"Today, since it's between sessions, Beaker has decided to take point," Anakin announced from where his bullhorn was poking out from an absolutely enormous pile of donuts.

The new raccoons had apparently decided to show up today to get new customers through their amazing donuts...tower...things.

So. There were a lot of donuts.

Just. A lot.

"Today we're going to use these donuts--thank you, County Donuts--in a relay race...thing. You can only pass them under your chin. Fortunately, we have a lot of extras for when you drop them!"

He turned to Beaker. "Are there any other rules?"

Beaker meeped extensively. Anakin's eyes went wide. "Well, that's going to get messy."

"Meep meep."

Anakin coughed. "Apparently the donuts are also on a timer and they will disintegrate into sprinkles--or jelly, or cream--if you take too long."

Thank you, Muppet physics.

"Listen for your names! There will be four teams of seven."

Beaker meeped smugly.

Anakin sighed. "And I, apparently, have been included. Come get your t-shirts."

Annie actually had a pretty light work week (though she'd have to work this weekend for the Fourth, naturally) and was already able to leave New York for Fandom by Wednesday.

And, like, while she was glad she'd taken the time to stop and change at home before making her way out to the park to watch -- with a foolish, I-wasn't-on-the-island-so-how-would-I-be-signed-up confidence -- she was even more delighted to find this whole donut situation.

Even if the two donuts she was totally eating (there were so many, why would she just have one?) both faintly tasted of lemon for some reason?

Was someone pressing her luck because she sometimes didn't get called, and spectating was worth the risk?

She sure was.

The donuts helped, though Faye would actually be vaguely sad to miss out on these shirts, even if she didn't really get the whole America thing.

Sakaki had managed to escape having to participate in a few of these, which was both a good thing and a bad thing, because she'd much rather be able to sit and enjoy a donut like she was doing now, but it was sort of difficult to not feel a little left out when she was sitting there watching everyone else participate.

Again, probably a good thing, but still...

Troy had not been called to participate in this this week.

Troy had still, somehow, managed to get a donut that exploded on him.

Troy did not have a spare shirt, especially since he had not been called on to participate this week.

Therefor Troy would currently be finishing up his donut in the stands without a shirt.

That was his story, and he was sticking to it.

Sidon tried not to miss these things when he could manage it, so he was glad to be there today, although he had mixed feelings about not being called to actually participate. It did seem like it would be a lot of fun (and a good excuse to encourage everyone to take a quick swim afterwards!), but he would not be able to deny that his height would make the exchange of donuts very difficult for both himself and his teammates! So perhaps it was for the best, and, this way, at the very least, he could truly cheer on his friends in their efforts, because who didn't love a giant red sharkman (who, for the record, oddly enough, did not taste anything like fish in the slightest and instead like a very spicy hot sauce) cheerleader on their sidelines?

Din was at least gratified that that Anakin guy was also being forced to participate. Even if he was really starting to feel singled out here.

Maybe he and Stark could start a club.

"Thank god I don't have to get my own clothes messy with all of this," Summer realized, as she contemplated, once again, if her sense of taste had been so skyrocketed off the guage of reasonable by now since she couldn't decided if she loved or hated this shirt, but she pulled it on eagerly because this? Was going to be...something....

You know, Shunsui didn't really get t-shirts most of the time, and still boggled over why anyone would want to wear something as constrictive and unfortable as anything like modern clothes, but this time around?

"Heh. Well... ♥."

Which he felt would be a little better with a different make-up for his own team, but...he really felt he couldn't complain about this branding right now.

Wanda quickly came up with a scrunchie to tie her hair back as soon as she heard what they'd be doing today. She knew that was going to end badly whether the donut disintegrated on her or not.

"I don't get it," said Amaya, frowning as she held out her shirt and read over it again. "Is America supposed to be ten in this case? How does that mean you're free? You think it'd be the other way around. I mean, sure, you're not under the oppressive thumb of a totalitarian monarchy, but you've all still got an awful lot of laws and restrictions and whatnot around here..."

Because, sure, Amaya, go ahead and turn this into sociopolical discussion from your magical-fuedal perspective on the whole thing.

Anakin dropped his robe in a puddle next to his bullhorn and ducked into his t-shirt.

So now he was wearing three shirts. That wasn't going to turn him into a sweaty disaster in three seconds at all.

So Ignis now had a ridiculous t-shirt and the promise of an unholy mess on his hands, but he supposed there was something to be said about not getting his own clothes messed up for this nonsense.

"Just say no, Ignis," he was muttering to himself as he carefully removed his gloves and his jacket and his button-down to replace it with the t-shirt and hopefully not mess up his hair too much in the process, and then folding those items up carefully to be set aside. "The next time he insists it will be fun, just say no..."

Prompto was admittedly a little disappointed not to be on Ignis's team for something like this, because watching him try to do this would be priceless, but he was definitely stoked to be a part of any team, because this could be fun!

Or, well, interesting. It was definitely going to be interesting. The jury was still out on the fun part, maybe.

"Well, the shirt is at least patriotic" Dwight muttered as he pulled the shirt on over his. And whether by some forethought on Anakin's part (unlikely) or some random chance or islands magic (more likely) the shirt was actually big enough to just about fit him perfectly... just about.

The shirt was tacky as hell, and yet Alexis could work it. She'd even tie up the bottom so it was a cute little midriff too now.

This might even come in handy someday!

Belle didn't quite get the shirt but she didn't get a lot of things around here. This seemed very silly and Belle wasn't sure why occasionally she ended up involved in these odd activities but she did enjoy donuts.

From one person in the list to the next to the next to the next--if you take too long the donut will harmlessly disintegrate into sprinkles, jelly, custard...

And all of the donuts you're passing under your chins are covered in powdered sugar. Because of course they are.

If the donut drops on the ground, get another and keep going!

Done similar with balloons filled with shaving cream, pudding, jello, and chocolate syrup. Just as messy!
