Today's shenanigans had been redirected into the community center--there were signs in the park to herd everyone into the correct place, and the food vendors had set up their rickshaws out front in anticipation.

"Today," Anakin began once everyone had taken seats, "we will take a break from physical acuman and see how good you are at following directions. Since I've taught most of you, I'm betting on...less well." He gestured at the tables, baking ingredients, and ovens that had been set up. "Today you will be working in pairs to complete two cooking goals. We have guest judges to grade your attempts: Dr. Lecter, who teaches culinary courses, and Mr. Eliot Spencer, who runs the diner. Listen for you names, please:

Ahsoka and Cristina; Aphra and Kanan; Amaya and Aloy; Zack and Hernando; Tip and Reno; Theron and Uma; Karla and Beaker; Jaina and Sidon; Astrid and Jono; and Mitsutada and Kitty."

"Those who come in second place will receive the glory of the singing fish," Anakin said, calling the terrifying beastie back to his hand with an indolent wave. "The rest of you get...sleep without nightmares, I guess."

Long story short, Jaina had figured out that it was quicker to hop over to this particular diplomatic trip via portal than it was to fly there after Saturday's party, so she had time to take advantage of the stopover in Fandom for the day. Because she was so very bad at food and it was funny, don't think too much. Might as well grab a drink and watch the event today, right?

Ah, hell. Eliot was judging this? Kanan bit the inside of his cheek in amusement and shook his head.

Whatever they ended up creating today, he was probably never going to live it down.

Hernando had been a little confused this morning. He arrived at the shop only to see on the employee schedule that he was directed to the community center. Since he hadn't written that on the schedule the night before, and nobody had been in the store since, it was a puzzle. Amused but willing, he looked at a map and made his way there. His face brightened when he heard Dr. Lecter's name called. He had attended the class earlier. Of the other names, he only recognized Kanan, and gave the man a polite nod.

Singing..fish? An actual fish? Perhaps not an actual fish. Probably not. He was curious to see whether it was, though.

Hannibal was mildly trepidatious until the teams were read out.

Then he was afflicted with something that in a lesser man might be panic, but in Hannibal was intense interest and a desire for fireproof clothing. Karla and Beaker? Did whoever declared these teams know what they had done?

Hannibal gave her a smirk. "I will; I'm certain Jono will see to that. Whether the island will is another matter. There's no telling how large the explosion could be."

Cristina really wasn't sure why she was here. At least this time the Event was inside in the air conditioning, instead of out in that godawful swamp the Mid-Atlantic called a "climate". . . .

But hey, just in time to-- "I get to bake?!?" she asked, face alight. "Oh we are going to win this!"

In front of Hannibal and Eliot are beautifully decorated sugar cookies that all look uncannily like the faces of the teachers at the high school.

YOUR JOB: follow the sugar cookie directions on your tables! Make sugar cookies! Decorate one to look JUST LIKE one of the teachers! DO IT ALL IN 45 MINUTES.

TASK NUMBER 2: CAKE ART

Once the amazing cookies are taken away, a giant stacked and carved cake emerges: it's the Fandom castle, at least five tiers high, surrounded by realistically painted and molded chocolate alots, teal deer, and gremlins. Hovering atop the castle is a fish that doesn't sing, but does emit dry ice smoke.

It's huge, it's complicated, but relax, right? Anakin has given you the directions for making cake batter, has provided the fondant, the Rice Krispie treats and the modeling chocolate, and has given you all of...well, two hours to make this thing.

HOW DID YOU DO? Be sure to paint us a word picture of your artistic endeavor. And the judges have to taste your cake too, so if you switched up salt for sugar, mention that, too...
