History of Art / Studio Art Combined Studio | March 24, Periods 5&6

Most of interior of the classroom has been cleared of furniture. What remains has been stacked at the front of the class, along with a selection of things like packing crates, pilates balls, stepladders, that sort of thing.

Autolycus grinned like a maniac. "Today, kids, you're going to work together to create an installation."

Angela idly grabbed a Pilates ball with her foot.

Then she sat on it and began bouncing. Hey, kinesthetic art....

Angel started sketching ideas. "Maybe something involving bouncing that down the stepladders? Like a domino thing?"

"That could be cool," Angela said. "Maybe somehow get it to land in a packing crate?"

She rubbed her chin. "I have no idea how to make that work, though. Can you build stuff?"

"A little," Angel said. He tilted his head sideways, looking at the materials. "We could break apart some of the crates to create platforms. We could have levels for the ball to go down."

Parker goes bouncing by on a Pilates ball.

"Okay, that's just disturbing," Angel said, watching her.

Xander glanced over at the classmates who were already working on a project, but somehow 'create art with Angel' didn't quite have the ring of a fun Friday afternoon. Or even a subdued-but-not-awful Friday afternoon courtesy of worying radio announcements about his roommate.

Who he waved across the room at before looking over the available things to build stuff from. Because art wasn't exactly his specalty, but he was pretty decent at building stuff, so if he called it one thing and not the other...

Staring at the piles of paint-spattered white dropcloths gave him a vague idea, at least, though whether you could really call it art or even 'building stuff' was probably questionable. Thoughtfully, he dragged a few chairs into a semi-circle, and draped a dropcloth over them, then spread a couple more sheets of material out around them, creating the...probably not really great... illusion of a snowbank.

Isabel waved back at Xander and watched. When what he was doing became apparent, she crumpled up a sheet of paper and threw it at him. Snowball Fight!

Xander blinked, though mediocre reflexes did manage to cause the 'snowball' to bounce off his raised hand - and roll across the floor, because he sure as hell didn't catch it - instead of his head.

It wasn't that she didn't have the right idea, just that this was not exactly the mood she'd been in when he got home this morning, and the other one? Made more sense.

Still, a snowball fight is a snowball fight. He retrieved her paper-ball and started stockpiling a few more of his own, stacking them 'inside' the 'fort.'

Thwap! Another paper ball came across the room to hit him in the back.

Xander spun around to tilt his head at her, but he guessed if she was trying to take her mind off things...

He shrugged and grabbed a snowball of his own, readying it to toss back at her.

A wave of her hand and the incoming snowball went in a completely new direction. Back at Xander. It probably felt cold and wet when it hit him. But it was a wee snowball so it really didn't hurt. Isabel smile widely and winked.

Zero frowned at the things available. "We need Jell-O. Lots of it."

"And a vat. And maybe some ice cubes!" Parker's-- sparkling, almost. Bouncing and twirling at odd moments. "Blue Jell-O!"

Zero briefly wondered if someone might have slipped Parker some uppers, then told her, "I was thinking 'Jell-O Swimming Pool.' It's an artistic statement, like."

Parker's way more amused than this probably deserves. "Awesome! We could get bath toys in there too, or maybe a fleet of rubber duckies!" She grinned. "Hey. You have your make-up date tonight, don't you? Yay!"

Krycek caught Parker looking sparkly and bouncing like a bouncy thing and shivered slightly as he decided it was best to just Not Ask.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Bridge drags a packing crate and a stepladder over to one part of the room, and then clambers up on the packing crate and does a handstand while he tries to figure out what to do.

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Isabel made a stockpile of paper snowballs and then looked around for another target. She grinned when she saw Bridge. Thwap!

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Meep!" Bridge says, as he sees the paper ball come towards him. Because it's hard to dodge when you're upside down. The paper ball smacks him in the chest, and he rolls out of the handstand into a sitting position. He reaches for the ball and wings it back in Isabel's direction.

She dodged and threw something else. Oh look! A wee cold, wet snowball is heading in Bridge's direction.

"Bzuh?" Bridge says, reaching up to catch the snowball.

Because he's articulate like that.
