History of Art / Studio Art Combined Studio | March 24, Periods 5&6

Most of interior of the classroom has been cleared of furniture. What remains has been stacked at the front of the class, along with a selection of things like packing crates, pilates balls, stepladders, that sort of thing.

Autolycus grinned like a maniac. "Today, kids, you're going to work together to create an installation."

Angela idly grabbed a Pilates ball with her foot.

Then she sat on it and began bouncing. Hey, kinesthetic art....

Angel started sketching ideas. "Maybe something involving bouncing that down the stepladders? Like a domino thing?"

"That could be cool," Angela said. "Maybe somehow get it to land in a packing crate?"

She rubbed her chin. "I have no idea how to make that work, though. Can you build stuff?"

"A little," Angel said. He tilted his head sideways, looking at the materials. "We could break apart some of the crates to create platforms. We could have levels for the ball to go down."

Parker goes bouncing by on a Pilates ball.

"Okay, that's just disturbing," Angel said, watching her.

Parker chortles. And bounces some more. "Hey! We need music. We should hook up a laptop? With iTunes? And put it on random? So that when the dominos hit the box you get music. Or something."

*bounce!*

*gleeeee*

Re: The Installation!

"Okay, yes," Angel said. "But are you drunk?"

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"What? No, not drunk." Parker stops bouncing, and the smile turns down by about, oh, ten watts. But then she does a little chair-dance on top of the Pilates ball. "Just glad it's Friday. Just happy?"

She tries to look calm. Really she does.

Angela giggled. "Just that it's Friday?" she asked. "But I do think music would be good. Maybe 80's music, something really obnoxious and happy."

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"I like 80s music," Angel mumbled.

"Yay! And um, yes? Friday? What else could it be?" Parker bounces again, then twirls off the ball to dance over to Angela. "Yes! Bangles! Or B-52's! Rock Lobster!"

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Love Shack?" Angel suggested.
chasingangela: (sly smile)

"Either that or "Rock Lobster" is perfect," Angela enthused. She had a theory about what else could put Parker in this kind of mood, but why push her luck?

Besides, her brain was loudly singing "It WASN'T a ROCK ... it was a ROCK LOBSTER! (Shadoopaboop!)" at her, which kind of killed higher thought.
