History of Art / Studio Art Combined Studio | March 24, Periods 5&6

Most of interior of the classroom has been cleared of furniture. What remains has been stacked at the front of the class, along with a selection of things like packing crates, pilates balls, stepladders, that sort of thing.

Autolycus grinned like a maniac. "Today, kids, you're going to work together to create an installation."

"Either that or "Rock Lobster" is perfect," Angela enthused. She had a theory about what else could put Parker in this kind of mood, but why push her luck?

Besides, her brain was loudly singing "It WASN'T a ROCK ... it was a ROCK LOBSTER! (Shadoopaboop!)" at her, which kind of killed higher thought.

"Lobsters are more arty," Angel agreed.

"Both! And 'Roam!' ~Roam where you want to, roam around the world--~"

Parker stopped singing and looked embarassed.

But she was still smiling a little. And bouncing.

"No, wait, I got it," Angel said. "You ate in the cafeteria."

Parker grinned at him. Then shook her head. Still smiling.

"It's bad, isn't it? I keep trying to stop smiling, and it keeps happening anyway."

She twirled.

"You know if I was like this you'd stake me."

And even that only dimmed her for about, oh, 15 seconds.

"I know! It's terrible." Parker nodded solemnly, and then the smile broke free again. "Good thing I'm not an accursed soul-possessing vampire, hunh? I can be like this and freak you out and be happy and it's Friday, Angel and Angela! Yay!"

Parker glee'd at Angel, grinned at Angela, then nearly skipped over to grab a laptop to start looking for Rock Lobster.

Rory wandered over with a pilates ball in her hands.

"Are you high?" she asked seriously.

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"No!" Parker actually looked offended there. Briefly. "I can't be happy? I can't just be gleeful about something that doesn't include thwarting or outsmarting someone?"

She grinned. "Damn. Missed the memo." She pulled up B-52's on the laptop, then spun in place again. "Oo! We should have the Pilates balls suspended? And have them release at different moments! And I'm being loud, aren't I?"

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"What are you gleeful about? And yes, loud. Which is why I went for under the influence," Rory said wryly.

Parker somehow got the volume on herself under control, and restrained a squeee!. She took a breath and grinned wickedly at Rory. "I'm Amy."

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"I TOLD YOU, OH MY GOD," Rory said, perhaps a bit loudly. She lowered her voice. "Um. I mean...how do you know?"

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Phone conversation last night. I finally--" She shrugged, looking down. "Sucked it up, and told him, and, and, I'm Amy, I'm not Jo, and I can't stop smiling, it's like a disease. Or a disorder. God, I just--"

Parker laughed breathlessly, then spun in place again, just for the hell of it.

"Told him what?" Rory asked puzzledly.

"That I love him as more than a friend. It just got to the point where I had to say it, no matter what he was going to say." Parker shook her head wonderingly, looking amazed. "And he loves me back. Can you believe it?"

Isabel took a seat on a crate and watched Parker twirl.

Parker waved to her as she twirled, then stopped, calming down by about twenty-five percent. "Hey! We need to kick Skeeter's ass! How are you?"

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's okay," Isabel smiled thinly. "It's enough being somewhat ET-like. I'd prefer not to look like him as well. And given her habit of changing people...."

She'll just evade the question of how she actually is. Oh distraction. "You're mightly cheerful today."

"I'm still going to try to think of something. Maybe something John can do, since he keeps throwing himself in the line of that wand." Parker shook her head, and then her smile crept back, a little more self-conscious, but still bright. "Um, yes? Maybe? Kinda? Yay, Friday?"

"Sure..." Isabel drawled. "You've been like this every Friday in class."

Her smile was still tight and her hands were fisted shut to hide the shaking, but Isabel tried to relax enough to be happy for Parker. "Something's up. Spill."

And she's not about using a little bit of guilt if she had to. "Distract me."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"We're talking about this later," Parker warned her. "Just not here."

She actually looked shy for a second. "Um. Maybe, possibly, someone said he loved me?"

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
She made a mental note to avoid Parker for a few days.

But at her words, despite the incredibly bad day she was having, Isabel squeed. "No way! Details! I want details."

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker grinned, hugging herself. "Jarod. Last night. On the phone. Not only as a friend, oh thank God." She couldn't stop herself any more, and just spun in place. "He loves me he loves me he loves me he loves me!"

Re: The Installation!

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-03-24 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Parker that's wonderful!" Isabel said. "I'm so happy for you."

"Any big dates planned?" Because it's much more fun to think about other people right now.

"No, no. I'll probably see him tomorrow. He works tonight." She grinned, a little giddy and dizzy from the spinning and the glee. "I've been so scared about this for a month, damnit, and to finally have said it would be relief enough, but this, this is--" She laughed again, shaking her head.
