Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

[ooc: Huzzah! Townies can come to this post for their safety and warmth! Screening is disabled! Students and Teachers are welcome to organize something... but as it's an emergency, we hath not actually organized the refugee effort! Organize! Be Swift! But above all, interact and have fun!]

Alanna glanced up at Tommy. "Doctor House and Doctor Wilson? I'm not sure, sir. I was working at the clinic when Victor asked me to move over here. Are you a doctor, sir?"

"Yeah, she's a healer," Victor added. "I figured we could use her help around here, just in case."

"Last I saw, I was the Town Clinic," Tommy said. "Wilson's off doing shit I don't even wanna contemplate. Okay. Grab one of your friends and tell them to have Dr. House haul his ass down here. In the meanwhile if anybody comes in with a medical emergency you get me. I'll be right over there in that thread I created. Got it?"

Victor held up his hands. "Alright, alright. I'll go ask Alanna." Yeesh, he thought as he went to go talk with the healer.

Walter grabbed Victor away from his duties for a moment. "Togusa wants me to bring Pup with him in Tachikoma to go into town looking for people who have not made it up here yet. May I borrow your room key?"

despite the chaos around him, the world seemed to stop for a moment. But only a moment. Victor took in a deep breath, and grabbed his wallet.

"Here," he said, taking the spare key out and giving it to Walter. "Take the spare."

"Thanks." Ignoring the confusion around them, Walter gave Victor a quick peck on the cheek and took the key. "I'll be careful," he said before Victor could have a chance.

It was just snow, but with a worrier for a boyfriend, it didn't hurt either of them to be reassuring.

Victor smiled. "I know."

Walter disappeared into the crowds leaving Victor to his work.

"Do you need me to page Dr. House?" A British voice asked from behind him. "Is he not here yet?"

"Dr. Pevensie," Fraser says, coming up from behind her. "Good to see you made it through the snow. Here to help, I assume?"

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] susanofnarnia.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, and the power in my apartment seems to be out." She took off her earmuffs and shook her hair. "Is anyone injured? Are there any medical problems? I suppose it's too much to hope for that we'll get through this emergency without any."

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] just-add-starch.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"As of right now, I don't think we've suffered any type of injury to student, faculty, staff or townsperson," Fraser says. "Most people are cold and possibly a bit confused."

"Good to know," Susan sighed. "My last emergency rotation was three years ago. I'm a bit rusty on the treatment for frostbite. Is anyone in charge of what's going on here?"

"I don't think there's one person taking command of all activities," Fraser tells her. "I think it's more of a group effort. Students have organized food and bedding lines and, of course, the medical team. So far, everything seems to be running fairly smoothly."

"Far as I can tell, no," Tommy said. He turned around. "Who're you? His girlfriend?"

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] susanofnarnia.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Um, no, not at all. I just met Constable Fraser this week. I'm Dr. Pevensie, the School Counselor. I *am* a medical doctor," she added. "And I don't believe we've been introduced?"

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] ladder62.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Tommy Gavin, and thank Christ we've got an actual doctor around here," he said. "Even if she is a chick. Hey, can you prescribe medicine?"

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] susanofnarnia.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Susan blinked, then tartly said, "Yes, I can. But I thought we didn't have any injuries?" She sent Fraser a questioning glance, then kept her eyebrow up as she looked back at Tommy.

Camulus loomed up behind him, looking a bit grim. "Were you in some way maligning the abilities of Dr. Pevensie? Not to mention your language around a lady."

"I called Dr. House, sir. And as Victor said, I can heal."

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] ladder62.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Good," Tommy said. He figured Alanna meant she had basic first aid. "Whoever comes in, rank them in an order of need, okay? We're dealing with emergencies here, not people who need flu shots."

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Sir, I worked as healer in the middle of a war after my arm nearly got sliced off. I know emergencies." She paused for a second. "I don't know flu shots."

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] ladder62.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Good, because you don't need to know them." Tommy resolved to just stop being surprised at what people told him anymore. "Anybody gives you shit, send 'em to me. Got it?"

Re: MEDICAL HELP

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna's smile was thin and deadly. "Anyone gives me shit, I'll send them to you for medical help. I can take care of myself. Sir."
