Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

[ooc: Huzzah! Townies can come to this post for their safety and warmth! Screening is disabled! Students and Teachers are welcome to organize something... but as it's an emergency, we hath not actually organized the refugee effort! Organize! Be Swift! But above all, interact and have fun!]

FOOD LINE

[identity profile] badassbutler.livejournal.com 2006-01-27 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Alfred has transferred all of the food and cooks he had for the grand opening into an impromptu food line.

[[OOC: Mun is in and out do to anime con business. Feel free to mod one of his NPC waiters or cooks handing out food. Literally, any food you could care to name, Alfred has on hand.]]

When Walter saw Alfred there with staff in hand, he knew there was no point in attempting to duck his tutor. He was there to help out, after all.

"Good afternoon, sir. Where shall I begin?"

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] badassbutler.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Alfred nodded towards his pupil. "Walter. Hmmm. Can you cook at all?"

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] walter-n-wires.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, of course." Walter moved to where food was being prepared and fished around for an apron. "Will there be anything else, sir?"

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] badassbutler.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Just that I'm glad that you're alright," Alfred said before turnign back to supervise the distribution of food.

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] section9-togusa.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Togusa peered over Walter's shoulder. "Hey, want to come with me to look for townies? Or can I use Pup too?" He waved at Alfred. "Hello sir. Mind if I borrow your student here?"

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] badassbutler.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Alfred nodded absentmindedly. "Just be careful. It's not fit for anyone out there. If it starts to look very bad, I want you two to get back here post haste."

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] section9-togusa.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Thank you, sir. We'll be careful." Togusa plucked at Walter's sleeve. "Want to come? I want to use Pup as well. There's someone I want to look for."

Chocolate

[identity profile] wonkacandyshopp.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Wonka sits down with his baskets of chocolate a little further away, but close enough to be in the same food-y area.

Re: Chocolate

[identity profile] badassbutler.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Alfred nodded to Wonka. "Chocolate, one of nature's true mood boosters. I'm Alfred Pennyworth, by the way."

Ivanova tags along with her boss. She may as well. She puts down her own burden of chocolate and let the paper crane free to flutter around her head. She smiles at the proper English gentleman.

Re: Chocolate

[identity profile] wonkacandyshopp.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Wonka gives Ivanova an approving look and nods back to Alfred. "Chocolate is wonderful! Do you know, the trooper that brought me here didn't know what chocolate was?" Wonka remembered himself. "Ah, I am Willy Wonka! I own the Sweets Shoppe. This is my employee, Miss Ivanova!"

Deb sets up the freshest stuff she has--six blueberry pies and six pecan pies--at the end of the food table. She opens the cookie boxes showing everything from lenmon bars to chocolate chip.

"Helluva a way to meet the competition, huh?" she asks Alfred.

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] badassbutler.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Alfred smiled. "Well there are worse ways. I was expecting to meet a lot of the town tonight at my opening."

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] pflag-mom-deb.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Deb laughs. "You can say that again. Could be worse, we could be huddled in a church like we were over Zombie Weekend. Funny, I fed people then too. I think it's a natural reaction in a crisis."

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] serra-inara.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Passing by the food table and overhearing the conversation, Inara laughs. "Well, you do serve comfort food, Deb. And at times like these, people want comfort."

Alfred laughed as well. "We do what we can, my dear. Though I suspect I have other services that could be called into use during a zombie crisis, I"m happy to provide food and water to those who need it. After all, I have the staff."

Lucas looked between Alfred's food, Wonka's chocolate, and Deb's pies and cookies. He tilted his head. He twisted his mouth. He was torn. He made a decision.

"May I?" he asked, with a bow to Deb, before scooping a handful or two of the cookies into his helmet.

"Hi, sweetie. Help yourself. What a way to start in a new town, huh?"

"That's one way of putting it." Lucas tosses a few more handfuls of cookies into his helmet, then looks consideringly at the pie. "Do you work at the school?"

Victor swung by quickly as he made his rounds, watching out for anyone injured.

"Deb!" he exclaimed. "Good to see you made it!"

Muta's eyes lit up when he saw the food line. "Baron, they have food."

The Baron's cane swung out and around, cracking Muta on the head. He stomped on his tail to keep him from moving for good measure. "Muta, you ate an entire spongecake on the way here. You are not eating again."

Alfred waved to his friend. "Baron, are you alright? I thought this snow might be a problem for someone of your stature."

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] gikkingen.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
"I was snowed in earlier," the Baron replied with a little bow. "But those troopers that Madam Tex seems to have acquired did an excellent job of digging us out. Even though the trim on my office may never be the same. And their footprints are very easy to follow in."

Re: FOOD LINE

[identity profile] badassbutler.livejournal.com 2006-01-28 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Alfred nodded. "I'm glad to hear that all is well then. The Troopers do seem to be very capable. I assume this is your friend? Would you two care to assist us in passing out food?"
