Practical Weaponry [Wednesday, Period Four]

Bond waited outside of the Danger Shop until all of his class had arrived. When they went inside, the room had taken on the appearance of a city devoid of life and eerily silent.

"I do hope you all remembered your zombie plans from our first class," Bond said from the doorway, checking his watch. "Since the zombie apocalypse and your final are both scheduled to start in about five minutes. Anyone who's still alive at the end of the class passes. That is unless you managed to cause the undeath of a classmate in the process, in which case you fail. Have fun."

With that he locked the door of the Danger Shop behind them. A faint groaning could be heard in the distance.

[ooc: wait for ocd up and craving spicy brains.]

Having dealt with zombies before, Hannibal moved quietly, trying not to jar anything or draw any attention to himself. He really didn't want to see any zombies that weren't the band at the damn bar.

He checked the cars he found, looking for anything good weapon wise and eventually just picked up some debris. Good projectile, at least.

As soon as he heard a scuffling, he ducked behind a boarded up building and waited there in the shadows. God, he hated zombies.

Dinah started immediately checking the cars for any weapons left behind; no luck. She tried a few doors too, then kept going.

She did make a makeshift torch, though. Maybe the zombies wouldn't burn well, but it was better than nothing, and gave her some light to see by.

Karla decided that taking to the air was the best idea. After all, the streets were filled with debris that could trip her up if she wasn't paying attention.

...And someone had had enough nightmares as a child to be wary of arms reaching out from under cover, grabbing an ankle, and pulling her down to it's lair. Someone had always had a vivid imagination, yes.

She'd also decided to try to keep offensive Craft to a minimum. In the spirit of the class, she'd try to only use weapons that were at hand. This plan could and would be hastily discarded if it looked like she was about to be eaten by zombies, however.

Okay, this might've been the coolest class ever. Rose kept her eye out for weapons as she moved quickly down the street. She didn't see anything immediately useful so she grabbed a big rock, figuring bashing brains in worked as well as anything.

Leda was muttering in Elvish, gesturing violently at the approaching undead. The literal translation could probably be guessed by the effect. Head explody!

She wasn't a good enough shot with a gun yet.

Kyle was no good to anyone without a weapon. He tried to remind himself that none of this was real as he quickly made a run for the alleyway near one of the taller buildings. He needed to scout out the area and to do that he had to get to higher ground.

Having retreated down an alley after hearing and seeing some zombies (and cursing his stupidity at hiding in an alley), Hannibal did pick up a baseball bat. He knew it wouldn't be handy for the most part but it was something and he could at least chuck it at zombies as means of diversion.

He really wished the baseball bat was on fire or something.

Yay baseball bat! Even if it was splintered. Still worth something. Dinah took a moment, then held the bat with one hand, the torch in the other, and kept going.

The thing about alleyways, especially ones with debris, was that it was easier to scramble up to get a hold of one of the fire escape ladders. It took two attempts, and a reasonable amount of noise, but he managed to haul himself up. Kyle didn't waste any time waiting to be attacked or to see if any zombies had been attracted by the noise. He was already scurrying up the flights of external metal stairs, trying not to put too much pressure on areas that might have been weak. It didn't take him long to reach the roof.

Having decided to skip the alleyways, Karla headed towards the buildings. After all, she had a duty to save as many civilians as she could--and certainly wasn't averse to a bit of scavenging.

She did use Craft to pass through walls and doors though. It wasn't an offensive use of her powers (yet) and it wouldn't deny people shelter if there were still civilians inside.

She scoured the the downstairs first, looking for weapons before calling a tentative "Hello? Any survivors here?" Thank the Darkness her training with Triela meant that she could load the pistol easily enough and probably not shoot herself when she used it. She kept her finger on the safety so she could slide it off as needed.

Turtle's main focus was to find somewhere high up, a perch from which she could create a barricade to hopefully prevent or at least slow zombies up from getting where she was, and keeping an eye on the place as a whole. Shooting from above, easier to get brains, with a pistol and some extra ammo, but she had a two-by-four with a nail in it in case she needed to break and run or pursue one up close.

First, though, she had to get in. She carefully stuck close to the edge of the building, looking for an open window or hole that she could slip into; busting down the door would draw too much attention.

Leda took a fire escape up to the roof of a building. There were only two ways up, and she had plenty of views for the exploding of heads.

From his perch on the roof, Kyle could see around pretty well. Zombies were scattered and he was sure he couldn't see all of them. He could see his classmates that were out in the open too. He looked down at the alleyway where he'd just come from to see there was no going back down that way. There were zombies down there.

Unfortunately, he hadn't picked the right building. There were no discarded weapons up here. He was about to try the door leading into the building when he saw the roof of the next building over. It was flat, and lower than this one, and had a tarp as a roof over a table littered with equipment. Someone had been there before. The only catch was he was going to have to risk jumping across the alleyway between the buildings to get there.

Not real, Reese assured himself, and he gave himself a running start before making the jump. He landed, tucked into a roll and looked back at where he'd been once he came to a stop. "I hate doing that." He made his way over to the equipment table. Someone had definitely set up shop here. He helped himself to their stash, taking a shotgun with a strap to sling over his back and stuffed his pockets with ammo. The semi-automatic rifle came next and the bag of ammo went over the other shoulder.

Then he made his way to the edge of the roof, crouched down and started taking potshots at zombies from there. He really should have thought to make sure the roof door was secure first.

Guns! Tybalt was going to be needing those!

... He wasn't going to last long, however. He'd never been briefed on the proper zombie apocalypse survival procedures, after all.

And so, should anyone else enter the mall, there was Tybalt. Tybalt the zombie, who would be waxing poetic by standing outside an office area saying, 'All I desire is to sup upon thy brains. I assure thee, t'is not an unreasonable request. I daresay I would not be so crass as to attempt to dine on thine eyes. If thou wilt be so kind as to open the door, then myself and my ilk shall enter, and proceed to eat the delicious matter found within thy skull...'

... If only it didn't come out as a low moan of "braaaaaaaains," instead.

Yay, Mall! Weapons! Places to hide! ... flashbacks! Yeah, wasn't this how she first met zombies?

Dinah kept low and looked around for a sporting goods store, planning on grabbing a really big caliber gun and get out of there as soon as possible.
