Sex Ed, Monday [4-13] Third Period

"I realize some of you may have had to bring your children to class today," Steve said, "and that, yes, this is an unfortunate turn of events. However, I have set up a play area with art supplies--" on a tarp "--over in that corner. I apologize that it is not soundproof, but look at it this way: they'll be some other you's problem soon." Or them in the future, in which case it was more like a reprieve than a carte blanche he was giving them.

"So, it's the last week before your final, and I thought it would be a good idea to have a sort of open forum, where everyone can ask any questions they might have about anything related to the class, and I and your classmates will do our best to answer. You can also use this time to review for the final if you haven't really got any questions. How does that sound?" Steve continued without waiting for an answer, with the relentless, merciless cheer of a man who'd cleaned marshmallow off every single surface in his kitchen recently. "Good. Let's get started."

Michael and Louisa were doing their best to out-colour each other. Edmund thanked Aslan that he'd had the foresight to bring pencils and paper for them to busy themselves with.

Gwen spent most of the lecture watching Gene out of the corner of her eye.

Luckily he seemed focused on tinkering with something that looked disturbingly like it actually belonged back in the hub.

Dinah kept leaning over to check on Lena and Jess, making sure they were playing nice and not drawing on themselves (Lena) or everyone else (Jess). So far, so good.

Harper hadn't found any kids claiming to be hers yet. However, after the incident (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/1612943.html?thread=133722767) last week, she was fully expecting someone to jump out at her with a kid that she didn't know about.

Giving Chad a rolling pin wasn't the brightest thing he probably could have done but he'd cried and Ned didn't know what to do so he just gave it to him and hoped for the best.

So far, no one had gotten smacked with said rolling pin.

Helen did not have a child, thank Uquar, but she did have an Ewok.

Éowyn had not wanted to burden Lois with watching Elboron, but luckily, he seemed quite content to sit quietly and color. If there was one thing she was learning from all of this, it was that she might be a good mother someday far, far into the future.

Alex didn't have any kids to look after, but that didn't stop her from occasionally glancing at the ones coloring in the corner. She seriously hoped Fandom never sent any her way.

Fat chance of that.

Alice had both of her children with her: Victoria and Abeni. She had little doubt that either of them could behave properly. She also had little doubt that either of them could get up to quite serious mayhem when it suited them, which would presumably be as soon as the novelty of proper behavior wore off. So she was keeping a close eye on both.

Edmund spoke up. "This isn't a question so much as a plea for my sanity. Please tell me that everything here is actually true and you can't get children even though you haven't done anything to get them in the first place."

If he didn't make sense, well, he was acting on very little sleep.

Lou had been colouring but then she was listening and she had to raise her hand. "What do you do if someone is fake?" she asked, looking very serious.

"Is there any way to have this not happen to us next year?" Dinah asked, looking exhausted.

"It is not incorrect to believe that one should wait until they have gotten married and become settled before having children, is it?" Éowyn asked. "I do not know how parents who have lost their partner manage to take care of their children without losing their sanity."

Coloring could only keep Beni happy for so long, unfortunately. It did not hold the same appeal as it did when one had to steal the crayons from one mother or another.

She stuck her hand up in the air, as a well-behaved child ought to do.

"What about the adverse effects of horticulture?" she asked without waiting to be called upon, which was not good and proper, and therefore amused her greatly. "One never knows if there's seeds for a sweet pea mixed in with the green beans, for example. Or foxglove with the nightshade."

Michael and Lou were, as mentioned above, colouring like mad fiends. Michael was very into green, while Lou (who was not about to be trumped by some boy thank you very much) was trying to out-colour him with yellow.

It was entirely possible that Lou still didn't like Michael very much. She was a possessive little tyke.

It couldn't last forever. Lena was now drawing a very pretty sun on her knee, to go with the flower on her ankle.

Gene sat cross-legged on the tarp, fiddling with the data scanner he'd "borrowed" from Okasan's desk before coming through the portal.

Chad was still intent on being a piemaking pirate ninja and he was trying to accomplish this by waving around a rolling pin Ned had give him and making swishing noises as he did.
