"Good morning!" Edward's eyes shone golden and he seemed in a particularly good mood. Each desk in the room had a single rose sitting on it. Half the roses were red and half were white.

"Today we'll be doing a roleplay exercise. It is easy to decide to take the moral high road, but it can be difficult to resist temptation when it arises." He seemed unaware of the double entendre. "If you have a white rose, your task today is simple. Hold onto that flower. If you have a red rose, your task today is to convince someone with a white rose to give their flower to you. You may use charm, lies or bribery if you wish. You may not," and here his eyes darkened for a moment, "use threats or force. Anyone who tries will earn detention immediately."

"Before we begin, I'd like to discuss next week's class. It is popular these days to wear skimpy or skin-tight clothing that leaves little to the imagination. Dressing modestly is sadly underrated. Next week we will have a fashion show for your peers to demonstrate that clothing can be both modest and practical. Please give your clothing size to our T.A.s before you leave and remember to invite your friends to class next week!"

Well. That was easy. Claire could consider the assignment over and done, right?

Eh, she'd keep going. It would be boring to just sit here and stare at her stupid flower.

"Please?" she tried again, still in a tone that all but shouted that she thought the assignment was dumb. "It's just a flower, but it'll mean so, so much to me."

"Hiya, Chuck!" Kaylee said exuberantly, beaming and clutching her flower close. She didn't mind hanging onto it, mostly because she thought it was right pretty. "How're you doin' today?"

Cal eyed his white rose for a moment and then, after taking a little sniff of the flower, figured that it was still much better that he was on this side of the coin than the other. He placed the stem of the rose between his teeth and waited for someone to try and get it.

Kevin approached Cal with just a hint of a smirk. "It's like you're inviting me to tango," he said, gesturing towards the white rose between Cal's teeth.

As soon as Cal realized that Kevin might have made it over here to try to get the rose, he removed it, face turning red. The plan he had in mind really only involved a person of the girl persuasion, hopefully a cute one, and so his entire plan was derailed as something in his brain exploded and left him floundering a little.

"I'm not much of a dancer," he finally said, because, yeah, that made any sense. "Worse at that than surfing. I'd totally step on your toes."

Kevin shrugged. "I've got sturdy toes," he stated. "And, might I add, that for a first time surfer, you did great. I admire a guy that isn't afraid of trying new things."

Cal couldn't help allowing at least a slightly proud smile at the compliment. "Thanks," he said. "Too bad our timing was what it was and it's probably too cold now."

It was definitely too cold for Cal, that was for sure.

Warren stared at his white rose. And then narrowed his eyes and steeled himself for whatever might come his way.

Molly wasn't sure how she felt about being the seducer. "How do you feel about working a trade?"

Professor Cullen hadn't said anything about keeping her flower, after all.

Warren considered for a moment, raising an eyebrow.

"If we trade, does that mean I'll end up having to seduce you to get my white flower back?"

He wasn't so great at the seduction thing.

Clearly Molly hadn't thought that far ahead. So much for a way around trying to seduce a perfect stranger. "I don't think the metaphor works that way? Once you give your flower away, you can't get it back. You can, however, stick it in a vase full of water or press it between the pages of a book or maybe plant it outside so it can become an entire garden and..."

It was dangerous to use a metaphor without proper supervision.
