Library; Wednesday [ 12/12 ]

Clutching the tea that she's finding herself increasingly dependent on with the decrease in temperature, Adah limped in to open the library, with enough time to get a decent pile of books back into their places before officially getting things started for the day and settling behind the desk. She even bothered to put the books in the proper places today, if only, merely because she can.

River quietly slipped into the library, and was drawn towards the desk by Adah's thoughts. She couldn't help it, the image of the stabbing that appeared in her mind made her smile.

[Yay SP!]

"Possible," River concluded. "Shock and indecision would have made them act unwisely. She would have had to be fast though. Roughly five litres of blood per body, but not all of it might have made it on to the floor. Still, the carpets would be soaked." She spoke mostly to herself, her head tilted, then gave Adah a warm smile.

"Like the idea of carpets," River persisted, even if she too suspected it was unlikely. On the other hand so was the number of guests and the death toll. She made a noise simulating the sound of walking on a blood-soaked carpet. Then with a sudden movement - perhaps too sudden for Adah, as usual - she grapped two pens lying on the desk and began to work out the movements and the stabs necessary, imagining the guests around her. She knew well where to strike.

Evie needed to study for her Feminism Final, and make sure she remembered everything important on Bea Arthur. Mr. Deadpool was just so likely to include things like her favorite food on the last exam.

She stopped next to the library desk with an armful of books, waving madly. "Hullo! How are you feeling today? I haven't seen you in quite a bit. And lord, are you as worried about Finals as I am?"

Which had Evie gaping, and dropping about three books to the floor before leaning forward in mingled horror and, strangely, fascination. "Really? Seriously? Is she, do you think, does she know, isn't it too soon, possibly... oh good heavens." Evie put her head in her hands. "What on earth should I write to Jonathan?!"

Evie actually put her head down on the library counter to get her breath back at that, hands over her head. "I'm too young to be an aunt! I don't want to break this to my parents! My mother doesn't want to be a grandmother yet, she's said it a hundred times! And oh lord--" She looked up, horror overshadowing some of the intrigue, "--Your mother might be my mother's age! What are we going to do?"

After missing his usual visit last week, Lee's sure not to miss it this week. He's already smiling when he pushed open the door and waving as he headed over to the desk.

Lee wasn't always the fastest on the uptake but he was having a good day so his response time was quicker than normal.

"I'm looking for something," he said, adopting an air of confusion. "Think you could help me find it?"

Lee raised his eyebrows at that look, amusement in his eyes but keeping the rest of his features schooled.

"I need...something smart," he said, tapping his chin thoughtfully. "Something...captivating. Something that makes the days better."
