Library; Wednesday [ 12/12 ]

Clutching the tea that she's finding herself increasingly dependent on with the decrease in temperature, Adah limped in to open the library, with enough time to get a decent pile of books back into their places before officially getting things started for the day and settling behind the desk. She even bothered to put the books in the proper places today, if only, merely because she can.

"You think?" Lee stroked his chin thoughtfully. "I don't know how I'd look with a patch and a parrot on my shoulder. I'd feel kinda dumb, I think. And that parrot might eat my shirt."

Adah had to bite her lip for a moment before, ducking her head lightly, she could point out, "At which point no one would notice the parrot, as you'll have no shirt."

She was just a little bit annoyed by the blush in her cheeks at the moment. Damn his ability to remind her that she was a warm blooded mammal after all.

"Would that group of people who wouldn't be noticing include you?" Lee asked because he had to, because he was curious.

Adah didn't say anything at first. In fact, her eyes drifted off into the distance somewhere, head slightly tilted, for a long moment before she pointedly blinked, giving her head a light little shake.

"I'm sorry; what were we talking about? I was off thinking out a shirtless pirate..."

The lopsided grin at this point was pretty much uncontrollable.

"Did the pirate look like me?" Lee asked hopefully. And somewhat dorkily.

Adah shook her head lightly. "A little," she said, and then glanced toward him, to see if, with hopes that, he had other questions.

"Did he have my arms?" The arms were important.

That they were. Adah shook her head again.

"Not nearly as nice."

Lee grinned widely at that, cheered by the fact that his arms were better than a fictional pirate's.

"I bet I kiss better," he said, all about the competition.

Seeing that grin on the Eel's face only made Adah's own smile brighten.

But it wouldn't stop her teasing. "I don't know; I'll have to find him and kiss him to know for sure."

"And then I'll have to find him and glare at him," Lee said, stopping short of saying he'd punch the fictional pirate. That'd just be weird.

"Only if he's better," Adah dictated importantly. "Otherwise, it's just a waste of energy."

"Yeah, but if he's better, that means you'll know this by kissing him," Lee pointed out. "So, I'll have to glare."

Ah, men. Chuckling a little despite herself, Adah shrugged a shoulder and offered, "You could always kiss him and let me know who's better and then we can avoid the glaring."

"Or I could kiss you and he could go away," Lee suggested.

Adah really failed to see how that would solve anything, but who was she to argue? She shrugged a shoulder. "I guess that could work."

"Good," Lee said, smiling again. "The fictional pirate who kind of looks like me can be forgotten."

"Only if you kiss me!" Adah said, laughing a little at the insistence in her voice. But it was very important that it didn't get forgotten!

"Only if I kiss you," he said, grinning at her tone and leaning forward to do just that. This kiss was a little firmer, a little more intense just because he wanted to.

And maybe he wanted her to secretly forget about fictional pirates.
