Library, 8/28

Not being able to stay away one more minute, Yomiko had collected the library key from the office skeletons, narrowly avoiding freaking out all over the place. Really, skeletons? What kind of place was this? She unlocked the library and peeked inside. "Hello? Is anybody...oohhhhh..."

And then she was off, wandering through the stacks like a kid in a candy store.

((The library is open! Come meet the new librarian. No OCD, as it is still summer, la.))

Lyra walked purposefully into the library. She was tired of not knowing what everyone was talking about.

It was cooler inside than she'd expected, she didn't know how the insides of buildings stayed so cold in the summer. She looked around, trying to see if someone was there.

"Hello?" she called after a moment. "Is anyone in here?"

[identity profile] daemonridden.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, hello." Lyra turned, tucking a strand of her blond-brown hair behind her ear. "I need a book on demons. The bad kind."

[identity profile] daemonridden.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, there are." Lyra looked around, trying to figure out the system, and faled miserably.

"Uh, 130s? Which way are they?"

[this is funny because I'm a librarian ^.^]

After saying goodbye to Anakin, Willow decided to see what the situation was down at the library.

"Hello?" she called out. Only quietly since, you know, library.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Possibly," Willow said. "Are you the new librarian?"

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Very nice to meet you," Willow said. "I'm Willow Rosenberg. You can call me Willow. Do you like chocolate chip cookies?"

Willow held out a Ziploc bag of said cookies. She figured it didn't hurt to bribe the librarian early.

Handbook in one hand, library card in the other, Zuko entered the room. At least the books seemed to indicate he was in the right place. Now he just had to find someone to help him out.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Willow noticed a new student and decided to be friendly.

She waved.

Quietly, 'cause library.

[identity profile] thebluespirit.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Zuko wasn't a wavey person. He nodded in reply.

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Willow came over. "Hi, person who is new to me. I'm Willow."

[identity profile] thebluespirit.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
That wasn't as long as all the other names. "I'm Zuko. Do you work here?"

He was going to assume this girl did work here. "Yes. I'm Zuko," he said, holding up the library card which had his name on it. "Pippilongstocking said that you would have books that would help me translate things."

[identity profile] thebluespirit.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Chinese," he said with a frown, hoping he had remembered correctly what Pippi had told him, "and... What are we speaking now?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Evie had found her Happy Place, if she'd known the expression.

She wandered through the shelves, greeting old friends, and finding new ones. "An Atlas of the Americas. Oooo. Let's see what you have...."

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, hello!" Evie straightened immediately, and smiled. "I'm Evie Carnahan, I'm a new student? I have my library card," she added, brandishing it like a flag. "I was just hoping I could check out one of the Atlases, perhaps? And, and, are there periodicals here? Recent ones?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-08-28 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Thank you. And, well, no. Archaeology journals, perhaps the National Journal of Anthropology?" She bit her lip, and said, "And is there any chance your card catalog would be able to direct me to the papers of either Dr. Daniel Jackson or Dr. Janice Covington?"
