Sociology of Violence: 2nd Period

"Hello, everyone. Welcome to class. I hope you prepared your questions for today, because our guest speaker is here to discuss issues of security and law enforcement with you."

"Please welcome Constable Fraser of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the current head of Fandom High's security and total dreamboat."

Sociology of the Paranormal: 6th Period

"Today, you will be broken up into project groups. I am going to give you your topics, and what I'd like each group to do is come up with several discussion questions based on your topic.

If you have any questions or concerns, let me know."

Homework: Here is the Study Guide for your midterm. I suggest you begin to review it.

[Slow-play for both classes, obviously and as always. There are threads of OCD ready for you. :) ]

Draco is secure enough in his sexuality to admit to himself that Fraser was damn good looking man. When it was his turn to ask his question he asked Fraser "So what has been the most dangerous thing you have ever done?"

Seeing the mountie definitely perked up Veronica's otherwise incredibly shitty morning. Cause wow, he really was hot. And she'd always had a thing about guys in uniform.

She carefully avoided looking at Phoebe, Bel or Piper when she posed her question.

"What kind of success rate have you seen with the rehabilitation of violent criminals?" she asked.

Cole and Phoebe sneak into class late, flushed and disheveled. Cole's grinning, Phoebe's glowing. They take their seats, and when it's time for Cole to ask a question, he says, "Umm..why did you decide to get into law enforcement?"

Phoebe was in a very good mood and thus had no questions in her mind about violence right now.

"I have two questions," she finally said. "1) Can I wear your hat? and 2) What do you think of the Arts and Choir?"

Yes, Phoebe was one of the three girls who serenaded him during song weekend.

Piper wasn't swooning so much that she nearly forgot her question. Not at all. Well, maybe just a little.

"Has the weirdness of this town changed the way you deal with issues of security?" she asked curiously.

Peter tried not to laugh at the thought of the last time he had seen Constable Fraser. He then asked a question that had some relevance to his life. "What are your feelings on vigilantism? If someone has the ability and the right moral character to actually help the law from the outside, are that person's actions - even if violent - bad?"

Shep pouts as this wasn't exactly what he had wanted to study... but he supposed he could twist and bend this topic towards what he wanted to study.

Jaye sits back and takes a nap as she is not in a group. Yay naptime!

[identity profile] lovelylana.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Lana signs in and tries to think of a good discussion question. "I guess I'm kind of curious about groups that want to or claim to use magic as a link or path to the divine."

Angela sits at her desk and drums her pencil against the desk, waiting for Walter and Broots.

[ooc: I'm sorry, I know you mentioned that you'd have someplace for those locked in the danger shop to let you know. I must have missed it. I don't want Lana and Broots to wait around forever for Walter when he's not going to show. Unless they're supposed to wait around forever for him, in which case... sorry guys.]

Paige signs in and forces a smile for the rest of the group, she might quite like to crawl into a pit and crease to exist for a short while.

Phoebe is cheerful and bouncy as she comes into class. In fact, she hasn't looked this happy and relaxed in months.

Mac finds her group, she's very glad that this is a class that doesn't involve the use of paper.

Cole walked into class and took his seat by Phoebe. For those who had seen him earlier in the day, he didn't look nearly as happy anymore.

Addressing the topic at hand, Cole said, "Some people think that using magical for personal gain is unethical."

Cordelia takes a seat at her groups' table and sits down quietly. She is not in the mood for discussion.

Shep comes up to the prof and very respectfully says, "Uh... that isn't at all what I signed up for last week."

"Yes. And, I wonder...why is it that people feel the need to connect magic, or what they call magic even if it isn't magic really, to their deities? Is it just easier to accept these things if they are believed to come from a higher power?"
