Parents' Weekend Evening Event - Saturday Evening Sock Hop
The student council folks had discussed events for Parents' Weekend and decided upon a sock hop at the community center.
So, the whole place was nowkitschily appropriately decorated and very glittery, the refreshments were set out, and the music was playing.
There was also a large box of socks at the doorway, for those who felt their socks were too threadbare or too boring, who didn't have any socks, or who came from a world where socks didn't exist. None of the socks matched. Some seemed to be made of extremely odd materials. Some had capes and/or toes (not always five). Most were interesting color combinations. Nearly all had googly eyes that seemed to actually be looking around at things.
Hopefully they were at least good dancers?

Arrive/Get Socks
Re: Arrive/Get Socks
He selected a truly dorky pair of socks and shuffled over to find some food. Maybe something jello-based.
Hang out by the refreshments
Re: Hang out by the refreshments
Yeah, this was the school she had only yesterday described as "not completely terrible." Maybe she needed to rethink that.

They were black fishnets with slim maroon stripes, and might look totally terrible on anyone but Nico.

Re: Hang out by the refreshments
Apparently just the chips so far.
You got lucky, Fandom.

There was no need to discuss that.
Point was, she was here now, in a rainbow-striped dress, and a pair of matching socks. Hanging out a little awkwardly by the refreshments, yes.

"Hey," she said. "So even if you're from a different universe or whatever, like Gert said, it's still really good to see you. And I love that dress."
It wasn't anything Nico would wear, but on Karolina rainbow stripes were perfect.

And then Miles saw that Jessica was spending her time helping to put together sock hops. Student Council President. Sure. "Total hypocrite," he muttered under his breath as he grabbed some punch.
Mingle!
Re: Mingle!
Yes, he was.He was hanging out against one wall, drink in hand and keeping an eye out for any stern looking Starfleet captains or anyone else that he might wanna talk with.

She was here for the hopefully-spiked punch and some food before she started her bar shift. Not to make new friends.
Unless they were hot.

He'd skipped the socks, though. Starfleet captains didn't need to borrow them, thank you.

Also, she'd gotten into the punch, so.
"Sup."

Eventually, though, she had to make her way to the sock hop. She was President, after all. Which, what the hell about that, too? Anyway, she was besocked and ready to pretend to party while really trying not to get on the phone and yell more.
Dance!
