Janet flipped on the library lights, sat down behind the Collections Desk, and... Heck, it was Friday. She sort of started working.

Pippi slinks into the library to return the copy of Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean (http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizworld/books.html#Magical_Water_Plants_of_the_Mediterranean) which she checked out about a month ago.

"Hey," said Janet. "How's it going?"

She took the opportunity to look up the girl's name when she checked the book back in.

"So, Pippi, you realize that this book was due back two weeks ago, right?" asked Janet.

"Okay." she said, "I think it's late..." she motioned to the book.

"Yeah," she answered Janet, looking very sad, and nobody can look as sad as Pippi when Pippi is sad.

"It was a very good book. I brought money incase there's a fine. I'm sorry, I've never borrowed from a library before."

Janet grinned. "Of course there's a fine," she said. "But don't worry, it's not very much, only handwavey amount. See?"

Second Period

Janet's still here, and has a container of chocolate-covered espresso beans out. She might be willing to share.

Cameron stumbled in after Maths. Tests and hang overs really didn't go along so he sagged into the nearest chair and yawned.

His stomach lurched at the chocolate and he shook his head. "Fine and dandy. You?"

Third Period

Janet ran off to Journalistic Integrity. Perhaps another library aide could be found?

"Hey you," Marty said coming into the library. "How are you doing today?"

"Crazy busy," Angela said, leaning in to kiss him. "Remind me to never take four classes in a day again."

Bel came into the library during third period and saw Marty talking with Angela. He walked over and slapped Marty on the back. "Marty!" he said, grinning. "Been wanting to talk to you."

Fourth Period

Janet's back, and in a surprisingly good mood as she types notes from her binder onto her computer.

Parker's killing time before Studio Art, and yawning. And she still hasn't asked Jack about the dance. Damnit.

Anders slouches into the library before lunch, looking cranky and disoriented, his eyes a bit red and bloodshot. "Parker," he mumbles, slumping into a chair near the desk.

Lunch

The day is starting to drag. Less work seems to be getting done than ever.

Sam came into the library and made a beeline for Janet. "Hi. Is there some place we could speak privately for a minute or two?"

Janet's gone again, this time to her TA meeting with Dr. Pierson. Another library aide may be willing to lend a hand.
