"Pretty good," Marty said giving her a quick but nice kiss. "And when enrollment comes around I'll do my best to remind you of that. Sorry I didn't see you outside of class yesterday. I just picked up a couple of shifts over at Empire Records and started working there yesterday."
"Oh really," Angela asked, interested. "What do they have you doing? And yeah, I was kind of invisible yesterday. Headache. Better now. Did you do anything fun?"
"Aw. Your poor head," Marty said with a little frown. "As for fun? The only thing I really did yesterday was sell a CD to a cat and bought a little prize for Rory. We're still on for the dance tonight, right?"
"Faithful. Alanna didn't seem too happy about it this morning, so I told her she could return it. I guess 'Jingle Cats' isn't everyone's cup of tea," Marty said as he leaned against the returns desk. "Do you want a corsage for the dance? Because I'll need to know the color."
Angela blinked. "You need to tell me what "Jingle Cats" is. Or else you really, really don't. I'm not quite sure."
"And the dress is black, so it'll go with anything. I think a wrist corsage would be a good idea, maybe deep pink roses? But I don't need flowers if you don't have time to get them."
"It's cats meowing so they sound like they are singing Christmas carols," Marty said with a shrug. "I was pretty sure a cat would like it. And I'll find the time to pick you up a corsage. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't?"
If there's a dreamy look on Marty's face, he's probably imagining Angela in a little black dress."
"Not the best boyfriend ever," Angela allowed. "But thanks so much anyhow." She picked up her hair and piled it on top of her head. "Do you think I should even trey to put my hair up for this?"
"Mmmm. That would look pretty nice," Marty says with a little grin. "I was just going to wear my usual suit unless you'd like me to dress up a little more. Or down. Whatever you'd like."
Angela stepped back and surveyed him, and did NOT say "Wear a clown suit" just to see what he would do. "You look pretty good right now to me," she said. "I am seriously fine with whatever you want to wear. Maybe match your tie to my flowers, if that isn't too cutesy.
Bel came into the library during third period and saw Marty talking with Angela. He walked over and slapped Marty on the back. "Marty!" he said, grinning. "Been wanting to talk to you."
"Of course not," Bel said. "I just wanted to thank you for helping me out with Phoebe. We're still having some ups and downs but if it wasn't for you we wouldn't even be talking now. Thanks a lot, man."
"Uh. Great!" Marty said feeling slight weird that he's having a friendly conversation with Bel. "So it looking good between you two? That's really good. I hop you two can work it out."
"Glad to see you and Angela back together as well," Bel said with another slap on Marty's back. "It's going to be a great Valentine's dance," he added with a cheery grin. "Catch you later."

"Hey Bel. I'm not about to become Marty flambe, am I?"
