The Club Fair, Gym, Friday Afternoon

For once, Jeremy actually came into the gym on purpose when the club fair was being set up. There was at least one club he knew he wanted to sign up for, after all.

So, he grabbed himself a copy of the club schedule, and set out to explore his options.

[OCD up!]

Jim might have gone ahead and taken a cue from one of the advisers today, yeah. There were cupcakes that he'd made himself, actually pretty decent ones, with the anarchy symbol (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v406/Nanashigriff/download_ca_black.jpg) on the top of each one in icing.

For the good of all. Power to the people. Truly.

"So," Annie said when she managed to get to the table finally. "I see you have cupcakes."

Why hadn't she made cupcakes? God.

"We have cupcakes," Jim confirmed with a grin and a nod. "Philanthropic anarchy cupcakes."

There was totally such a thing. Now.

"I've never heard of philanthropic anarchy," Annie said dubiously. "I don't actually know that those two words go together."

Britta really couldn't help looking over at her partner in do-good crime, after peeling off the wrapper from the bottom of a cupcake and licking the frosting off her fingers. "Best. Club. Ever," she decided.

"Best club ever," Jim agreed with a laugh. "And we got Professors Madrox and Pie on board. I told them that they were willing to suggest worthy causes for our group to take up if they had any, for their troubles."

Jim was nice like that.

Mmmmmm, pie.

Hey, as far as Britta was concerned, Pinkie Pie was still just an acid flashback, so what else could Jim have meant?

"Oh, cool! Were there any suggestions?"

Kenzi wandered by, nibbling on food, and stopped to consider the sign. "The what now club?"

"Anarchist Philanthropist," Jim replied, offering a little smile. "It's... kind of like a Robin Hood thing," he continued, pleased that he'd flipped through enough books from this world to be able to make a cultural reference, "only with less robbing from the rich, and more giving to the poor. Or whatever. Plenty of volunteer work and stuff like that."

Oh, Jim. You just had to make that analogy.

"I am all for stealing from the rich!" Or even the fairly well-off. "And giving to the deserving." Like herself. "What kind of volunteer work?"

Kenzi started looking around for a pen. Which she would probably walk off with.

While Britta was still a little skeptical about the club and the whole idea of there being sign-ups and leaders and advisers, she was there, hoping history didn't repeat itself, but, if it did, maybe she'd get kicked out of the school and could finally go join the Peace Corps.

Plus, Jim brought cupcakes.

Now granted Matt was technically blind however he did have senses granted to him from a horrible accident that would allow him to... well say recognize a girl he might have talked to before.

He pretended to have his cane hit the booth's table lightly so he could turn toward it.

"Sorry about that," he said aloud. "What club is this for?"

"Matt!" Britta's eyes widened a little as she went to hastily wipe the cupcake frosting she knew was on the corner of her mouth away and, halfway through it, realized it was stupid because it wasn't like Matt could see it anyway. Good. That meant Matt would also not see her ceremoniously wiping what she wiped off her mouth onto her jeans. "Hi! Oh, don't worry about it. How are you? This here's the booth for Anarchist Philanthropists. You know, doing good to spite The Man trying to hold everyone down! When the system pushes its corruption and deception on the downtrodden, we push back! Want a cupcake?"

"Sure! Is this how we're taking down the man?" Matt joked. "By handing out cupcakes? Because I don't think that's ever been tried before."

"Hello," Elphaba greeted Britta, looking about at the table. "What exactly is an anarchist philanthropist?"

It seemed to take a second for Britta's brain to start on this one, mostly because it was being confirmed that Elphaba really was green and it wasn't just the pot.

"Heyyyy," she said, once things got going in there, a bit overly friendly to make up for it, "you."

To be fair, when Britta had met the other girl, she had been in a little bit of a drug-induced haze, and Elphaba wasn't exactly a name that just rolled off the tongue from memory.

"I'd offer a cupcake, but I'm not sure if they're vegan." At least she remembered that part? "An it's easy, really. It's doing good thing for people that The Man has stepped on. It's standing up for equality, despite the massive push of capitalist and ideologue jerkwads who try to keep others down with all their power-hungry, war-mongering bullshit. Pretty cool, huh?"

"That sounds very cool," Elphaba admitted, even if she found 'cool' such an odd term. "And exactly the sort of thing I wouldn't mind being associated with. I just sign up here?"
