Monster attack

Shots can still be heard down in the town. The troopers seem to be all tied up down there. Which is why it might be disconcerting to anyone watching out the windows to see figures begin rising out of the snow on the lawn of the school. More are moving out of the trees also.

They begin making their way toward the buildings.

[[OOC: If people choose to leave the building to fight, please organize yourselves into groups (preferably in the gym thread) and post your location in the subject line. This will make it a lot easier for me to keep track of everything.]]

An army of snowman trundled up to the defenders, led by a very psychotic looking deformed snow beast. They all looked rather bloodthirsty for being frozen water.

"... Okay. This is bad." Said Pippi. She pulled one of her three plasma grenades and lobbed it at the deformed snow beast sticking the blue glowy thing to it's nose... Hopefully.

The plasma grenade slipped off the PsychoSnowBeast's nose and into its mouth. It proceeded to launch the projectile from its hindquarters out a window.

The dozen or so members of the oncoming snow army began to arm themselves with Hypothermia Snowballs.

Here we go.

Walter grinned around his cigarette and dropped loops of wire over a pair of snowmen, giving a strong pull that sent pieces of snowmen flying.

The pieces of snowman that flew slowly began the process of reformation, while another still-formed one came at Walter with an icicle knife.

Walter shook his head. Great. He sidestepped the snowman and cut it to bits.

"Cutting 'em up just slows 'em down! I'll cover from snowballs!"

The BigScary lowers his internal body temperature to something unreasonable, transforming himself into a being of solid ice, tough as granite. He slides at Walter's legs looking to bowl him over.

Pippi pressed the bag of booze into Victor's hands.

"Not the snowball fight I was looking for... Vic, try to cover them with the flammable stuff. Walter see if you can light them on fire... I'll try to make us some cover..."

She began pushing up large mounds of snow between them and the creatures.

She was making a snow fort. Cause that's what you do in a snowball fight.

A pair of frozen hands shot out of the mounds of snow that Pippi was packing and made a grab for her pigtails.

"Gah!" Pippi lept back... Or rather, tried to, as the right hand managed to take hold of her left braid!

She looked up at Han.

"Whisky?" she asked horsely pointing to the bag of booze.

"Gotya," Victor said, leaping to the wall. Ordinarily, he'd probably be freezing, but the unstable molecules in his uniform kept him warm. "Here, have a drink!" he called, taking a bottle of booze out of the bag and chucking it at the nearest snow beast.

One snowman gets splattered with Johnny Walker Blue Label and starts to list slightly to one side in its inevitable lurch towards the defenders.

Han is picking off the snowmen--not the armored sort but real ones of real snow--with the lowest power bolts from his blaster, the heat of the compressed energy melting them.

Where the snowmen melt, they eventually rise up again. And they are pelting the defenders with snowballs and icicles. One particularly deadly snowball (full of hypothermic goodness) is lobbed right for Han's head.

He sees it coming and doesn't quite dodge it. It clips his ear and shoulder, replete with plenty of ice-shards.

"Flamin' hutt-kissing rodian spawn!" he yells as he feels his ear and neck start bleeding. He grabs one of the bottles of booze, takes a quick drink and lights a strip of cloth in its neck before lobbing the flaming missile at the snowbeasts.

Walter takes a vantage where he can watch his friends and see the approaching snowmen. Every time a new volley of snowballs is launched, Walter cuts them out of the air. He can't kill the snowmen, but he can provide cover for the others, and slow down any snowmen that get too close.

Nadia grins even as she ducks more snow balls. "I'm going to run out of tshirt at some point, though. . . ." She lobs out a bottle of Captain Morgan

Maia came out a side door to the clinic, she was dragging a garbage bag with her. Inside were water balloons filled with as hot as they could hold without breaking water. Standing near the door in case she needed to retreat Maia let go with the first balloon.

Pippi is impressed with Maia's idea to fill the balloons with water and rock salt to melt the snow creatures.

You really can learn some important things in school.

The balloon strikes a shambling snow monster in the shoulder and bursts on impact. It would have melted the arm cleanly off the monster's body, except that the temperature is cold enough to refreeze the arm after it's melted about three quarters of the way through.

Ice is brittle, though, when it has that much weight on it, and the arm snaps off anyway.

Only to reform as another snow monster.
