Monster attack

Shots can still be heard down in the town. The troopers seem to be all tied up down there. Which is why it might be disconcerting to anyone watching out the windows to see figures begin rising out of the snow on the lawn of the school. More are moving out of the trees also.

They begin making their way toward the buildings.

The balloon strikes a shambling snow monster in the shoulder and bursts on impact. It would have melted the arm cleanly off the monster's body, except that the temperature is cold enough to refreeze the arm after it's melted about three quarters of the way through.

Ice is brittle, though, when it has that much weight on it, and the arm snaps off anyway.

Only to reform as another snow monster.

Maia looks at Pippi and hands her a baggie of rock salt. "Here, if they get to close." She said hurrying along to get more to the other people fighting.

"Getting them sozzled and lighting them up seems to work the best, but this'll help! Be careful!" she called after Maia.
