Peter took a seat in the library with his Constitution reading for Government class. His room was too quiet so he went, ironically, to the library to study. At the very least there should be some activity here...

Angela waves but doesn't bother Peter. They should encourage students who actually want to study in the library, right?

Peter waved back. Yep. He had a good feeling that he was going to get a lot of studying done.

Rory eyed Peter thoughtfully.

She pondered throwing a pen at him to see what would happen.

Peter continued to study, although he had the feeling (a very accurate feeling, really), that someone was watching him.

He slouched down in his chair a little.

Rory narrowed her eyes.

She very nearly did throw the pen. But then she realized her aim was so bad that it would prove nothing. Damn it.

Peter finally turned around. Spotting Rory, he waved.

He then wondered why she had been staring at him. Probably heard the radio and was concerned or something.

Rory waved back before actually walking over.

"So. You met Crazy Hooker?"

Peter put down his reading. "Yep. You were right. She looks just like you, but with less color and more crazy. I was kind of lucky to get out of the park, I think."

"So, I heard she shot at you and Bridgey. And bit Cal."

Rory crossed her arms and surveyed him. "You move fast."

Crap. "There were a couple shots in my general direction, but nothing came close to hitting me. And the only thing I did fast was get out of there after I helped Bridge get Cal and Crazy Hooker apart."

"Uh huh." Rory was obviously still skeptical. "Why did she try to shoot you, anyway?"

"Just because I was there, I think. Also? Because she's crazy. We picked a good name," Peter said, very seriously.

Parker greets Petey-boy with a whap on the arm. "What were you thinking? Dufus."

He saw it coming and it didn't hurt, but he had to put on the show. "Ow. Hey, what was that for?"

"Dodging bullets? Hello? Playing with crazy people in the park? Callisto was impressed, so I'd be impressed. Except even with superpowers, or whatever you've got, that was dumb."

Crap. Lying really wasn't going to work, was it? Still worth a shot, though. "I went over this with Rory already. I was in the park, crazy people with bad aim are there. I did nothing."

"You could've *left* the park." Another whap. "And why didn't you tell anyone, Normal Boy? That makes no sense. Have you seen half the student body?"

Fine. "Look, I have my reasons for not telling people, okay? I made a mistake going there, I'm not planning on doing it again until this insanity is over, and it's probably a good thing for Callisto's sake that I was there anyway."

Parker grumbled, shaking her head. "Yeah, she said as much. Still. Risky. Dangerous. Jeez. Next time, find a phone and yell for help." She cocked her head, calmer now. "So, what's the story? Alien? Destiny? Curse? What? And if you don't want to say, keep in mind that people are going to be making crap up pretty soon."

"Trust me, I know exactly how dangerous it was. And if you really have to know, I'm an accident of science." Peter rolled his eyes. "Of course, nobody will be making crap up if the people who know something respect my privacy and don't give any details."

"Fine in theory, but blown away by the fact that a ninja gave you a marshmellow was on the radio. People are gonna ask. Or make up stuff." Parker cocked her head. "But I won't give out any more details, if it's that important. I'm actually mostly just jealous, damnit. I'd like to be able to dodge bullets." She pouted.

"Maybe the ninja was just feeling generous and had an extra marshmallow. Who knows?" Peter didn't. That was probably the most bizarre moment from yesterday.

"And thank you. I appreciate it. But trust me, powers aren't all they're cracked up to be. They come with a lot of responsibility."

"Responsibility? To do what? I'd think if you had the power, you could make it easier on yourself. So much more would be possible! I get so frustrated, dealing with some of the creeps and dangers around this school. If I were super-fast or whatever, God, that would be an improvement." Parker shook her head. "I can't see what would change for me, but maybe it's different for you."

"How many friends have you had die just because of what you were? How many people should you have been able to save, but you made a bad decision? How many psychopaths have tried to kill the people you love just to hurt you?"

Peter looked down. "Responsibility."
