The Library - Jan. 11th

Climbing down from his hammock early this morning, the Librarian opens the library for the morning and sits as best he can on a chair behind the circulation desk. He peeling a banana carefully with his feet while keeping a close, supicious eye on the library and, particularly, the books.

Lee comes in, still in search of more books on Egyptian art.

The Librarian looks over from the desk.

"Ook?"

His tone sounds helpful.

Lee looks over, confused, in the direction of the sound. "Um... can I help you?" he says.

The Librarian looks startled that someone is asking him if he needs help. That's his job. He's the Librarian.

"Oook! Oook oook!"

The Librarian shakes his hands in a negative motion and then points to himself and then Lee and then the Library. He is thinking that he may need to see about getting a nametag at some point.

Jake wanders into the library in search of books about the history of this USA. He can't remember whether he has a library card or not, but he hopes he can still sit in the library and read.

Blair bounces slowly up to the circulation desk, intent on grabbing his card and talking to Janet again. "Hi Janet, can I get my card today" *aaachoo* "Sorry about that, and I need to do some research on - " Blair stopped and his jaw dropped at the not-Janet behind the desk.

"Not the strangest faculty member here," Ms. Sidle comments cheerfully, filling out her own form.

Blair turned and looked at the person next to him. "Faculty?" He squeaked.

The Librarian immediately stops peeling his latest banana, as his eyes narrow. He flings the banana, peel and all, at the unsuspecting student.

"OOOK."

The Librarin's tone is rather menacing and give the impression that the student is lucky faculty have certain codes of conduct.

*squish* The half-peeled banana struck Blair head-on and it smeared into his hair before falling onto the floor. He glanced in shock at the librarian and raised his hands defensively at the not-happy face.

"Whoa, man! What did you do that for?"

Marty carefully sneaks into the library to study, hopefully not attracting anyone who might look like a star in a Clint Eastwood movie.

The Librarian, seeing Marty studying, notices that he seems slightly nervous. Shambling over, the Librarian leaves a banana on the table and, after making sure that any books in the vicinity were appropriate, shambles off without saying a word.

After math class (and therefore far too early for sane pople) Angela enters the library and takes her usual perch behind the circulation desk, keeping an eye out for Jaye.

Sometime around, oh, noon, Zero finally shows up at the library, looking refreshed and cheerful.

Angela waves groggily. "So you didn't get stuck with the early classes, huh?"

"I have early classes on Friday--actually, I have a lot of classes on Friday. Or, well, three, and two of them meet double. But today? No class!"

Parker got in around noon, carrying homework with her and looking thoughtful.

Jack came into the library, which he had largely avoided all last semester, figuring it was his best chance of finding Parker.

He looked like he hadn't slept. At all.

"Hey, you." Parker put the books away, and moved around the counter. "You look like hell. How are you doing?"

Rory strolled in after third period, grabbing a book on Egyptian art and perching behind the desk.

Parker came back from Dr. Zordan's office, looking relieved and a little worried. "Uh, Rory. I need to talk to you about something."

Alanna came into the library, Faithful on her shoulder, and a list of subjects to research in her hand. She glanced around, making sure the Librarian wasn't around.

The Orangutan is quite obviously sitting at the desk. He seems to be reading a rather old tome on philosophy. He looks at Alanna as she walks in, but says nothing.

Alanna peered at the Orangutan curiously and went off to search for the history section.
