The Library - Jan. 11th

Climbing down from his hammock early this morning, the Librarian opens the library for the morning and sits as best he can on a chair behind the circulation desk. He peeling a banana carefully with his feet while keeping a close, supicious eye on the library and, particularly, the books.

The Librarian immediately stops peeling his latest banana, as his eyes narrow. He flings the banana, peel and all, at the unsuspecting student.

"OOOK."

The Librarin's tone is rather menacing and give the impression that the student is lucky faculty have certain codes of conduct.

*squish* The half-peeled banana struck Blair head-on and it smeared into his hair before falling onto the floor. He glanced in shock at the librarian and raised his hands defensively at the not-happy face.

"Whoa, man! What did you do that for?"

The Librarian, still not pleased with the student, hurls a pamplet in his direction. It appears to be self-published and is entited, "Not a Monkey". It details the differences between monkeys and apes. There is also a picture of a very poorly drawn orangutan on the front.

"Ook."

Blair grabs the pamphlet and reads it quickly. "Okay, not a monkey." Blair nods. "Can I have my library card now, Mr. um...umm.." Blair searches vainly for a plaque or nametag. "Mr. notamonkeylibrariandude" Blair winces slightly, anticipating other things being thrown at him.

The Librarian actually seems quite pleased, since this is the closest any student has gotten to calling him by the correct title without excessive prompting.

"Oook!"

He motions for Blair to come closer to the desk and then pushes a library form towards him with a blue pen.

Blair inches closer to the desk, but warily. He's still got mushed banana sticking in his hair. Seeing the form he waves his arms a bit and bounces. "Nah, man. I filled that out yesterday, I'm just going to be picking it up today. I need to do some research on the moon landing and vampires and monkeys."

Blair stops and stares. "Monkeys like monkeys! Not notmonkeys like you! Just monkeys who know things!" Blair yanked the stuffed monkey (http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a144/footontheground/Small_Fry_Design_Murray_the_monkey_.jpg) out of his backpack and squeezed it so it spoke, "I knooooooow *gurgle* Mwhhahaaa!"

The Orangutan stares at Blair, much the way a human would stare at someone who has completely lost their mind. After shuffling around behind the desk, the Librarian locates the correct card and pushes it very cautiously towards the disturbed young man. He backs up slightly.

Blair reaches forward, holding his stuffed monkey in front of him for protection. He grabs the card and then smiles at the librarian and bounces.
