The Library - Jan. 11th

Climbing down from his hammock early this morning, the Librarian opens the library for the morning and sits as best he can on a chair behind the circulation desk. He peeling a banana carefully with his feet while keeping a close, supicious eye on the library and, particularly, the books.

Parker came back from Dr. Zordan's office, looking relieved and a little worried. "Uh, Rory. I need to talk to you about something."

"Jack was walking home alone from Caritas last night-- he got drunk, he wasn't thinking straight-- and, uh." She took a deep breath. "He ran into Darla. Who scared the hell out of him."

"He's fine," Parker said hastily, kicking herself for not leading with that. "He got away, or she let him go. But he's not hurt, just shook."

"I think just to scare him. Jack and I told our new Dean of Students-- and incidentally, that was more than a little weird -- and he said that 'precautionary measures' would be taken." She rubbed her eyes, then looked at Rory. "You okay?"

"I'm fine," Rory said with a wave of her hand. "Just rattled and confused about a few things. Don't worry about me. But Jack's okay like, mentally and emotionally?"

"Mostly. I think. He didn't sleep, but he's not too freaked out, all things considered." Parker grimaced. "I hope." She hugged herself. "I'm just glad she was only playing with him."
