The Library (12/16/05)

Janet has no classes today, so she opens up the library, flips on the lights, and plots ways to get revenge on Jack O'Neill. Oh, and she works. Really. She is in no way browsing through webpages and ordering supplies for any future pranks when she goes on vacation.

She also puts up a sign:

RETURN YOUR LIBRARY BOOKS. NOW.
THE STAFF IS GETTING CRANKY.
ALSO: ZERO. MALLET. GET THE IDEA?

THE LIBRARY IS CLOSING EARLY
FOR THE INVESTIGATORS' CLUB MEETING.

Looking exhausted, Angela plops herself at the collections desk. "So how exactly do you make a pirate sound like a well-rounded student in 400 words? I hate writing today."

[ooc: *psst* The apples are locked in the closet with Sam and Jack.]

"At least you can work on yours over the weekend. Mine is due at the end of the day," Angela says, gloomily biting into her apple. "Mmm. It's been a while since I had fruit. What happened to your fridge?"

Lee comes in with all his checked-out books and smiles at Janet. "Sorry about being such a wet blanket last night, Janet. And here are my books!!"

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-16 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, I left you guys just as things were about to HAPPEN, you know and I was all mope-y and stuff. How did the rest of the evening go?" he asks, and sekritly hopes that none of his books are overdue because that would just be embarrassing.

From where she perched behind the collections desk, Rory frowned at Lee.

[identity profile] leeadama.livejournal.com 2005-12-16 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Lee sees Rory frowning and feels dead inside as omg, what has he done to make Rory frown?! "What's up?" he asks.

Parker comes in with a notebook, writing up ideas for I-Club and tonight's pizza party through the common rooms.

Rory walked in, studiously avoiding Parker, and buried herself in a textbook.

Psych Experiment

Jack comes in with a few sheets of paper and a box full of poker chips.
A piece of paper with the following information will be given to all participants.

Thank you for volunteering to help with our experiement.

You will be given 2 sets of words (seperately, one easy, one difficult) which you will have one minute to memorize. The words will then be taken away and after 5 minutes you will have to recall as many of the words as you can and write them down.

OOC: There are two groups. Please pick if you are a part of the group that is given 20 poker chips at the outset, or the group that is given nothing.

If you choose to be part of the poker chip group, for every word you miss, you will lose a chip. Please see Jack Harkness or Paige Matthews at the end of the day. The person who manages to keep the most poker chips will choose between two prizes.

For either group, please note in the threads below (answer in both easy and hard):

Chip? Y/N
How many words did your character miss?

"Oh, time to do your psych project?" Vala grinned. Then frowned. "Did you come up with all this in the last two days?"

[[FYI -- I didn't make it very clear, chips or not is an OOC choice.]]

"Hey Jack." Parker tilts her head, studying the set-up. "What the hell. I'll try it for chips."

Vala wanders in, possibly having not been in there since Zombie Weekend, a pile of books in her arms.

"Here you go!" She offers cheerfully, placing Crimes of Persuasion: Schemes, scams, frauds (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0968713300/ref=pd_sxp_elt_l1/104-7264698-8907936?n=283155), Frauds, Deceptions, and Swindles (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0816044228/ref=pd_sxp_elt_l1/104-7264698-8907936?n=283155), and The Big Con : The Story of the Confidence Man (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0385495382/ref=pd_sxp_elt_l1/104-7264698-8907936?n=283155) on the counter.

"Thanks, Mal Doran," Parker says dryly. "We appreciate your patronage. And would like a cut of the take."
