Try Not to Die!!!! [Tuesday, August 9]

There was only one Jedi waiting at the causeway for students to show up, and it wasn't Anakin.

"Hi, everyone," Tahiri said, drawing on her Jedi training to maintain a calm demeanor; no need to alarm people. "Master Skywalker can't be here today, it seems."

She gestured across the causeway to the Disney castle (then back to Fandom's castle, then back to the Disney one again with a slight shake of her head) before turning back to the students with a slight smile. "But as you might have guessed by now, that doesn't mean you won't be exploring our new location. I assure you, it's much safer than the last one." Actually, given the aggressive cheerfulness of their new neighboring locale, that might be debatable.

She cleared her throat, glanced around the group, and continued. "I advise you not to take it for granted that this will be simple, despite our surroundings, so keep that in mind, and . . ." Tahiri gestured toward the clue box as she stepped away. "Try not to die, or kill anyone else. Please."

Given some of the students in the class, and the fact that she was sending them into Disneyland, that second bit was a perfectly valid concern.

Luckily, Mord'Sith were used to torture, and Cara had that persistent dull throbbing in her arm to distract her from the 'music'.

And the dolls, so she had to go around again.

Oh, no.

Jim almost groaned as he went through the ride once, twice...

He had no eye for what was and wasn't out of place, here. Earth was so uniform compared to Montressor! And then after the second trip through, the song had started to grit at him, and...

He was grinding his teeth by the time he managed to get past today's roadblock. He was grinding his teeth a lot.

Seifer was used to ignoring distractions, but he still had to go through the ride a second time, because he missed one. One.

And now he was humming that damn song.

Oh, she had this one locked up. Who was going to rock out the detail-oriented challenge here? That's right, it was Annie. It also helped that she was too busy scanning all the displays for something out of place to actually notice that the ride was kind of terrifying, so it really just helped to preserve the magic of Disney for her.

She managed to get it right on the first try, and was cheerfully humming the song as she headed off to the next destination.

Easy. Mercy could smell which ones were newly placed.

Sam had never even heard of Disney -- despite being from essentially a modern day Earth dimension, but she still got the song stuck in her head the moment she got on the ride. And then she had to go around four times before she managed to catch all the out of place characters.

Oh, how she longed to beat someone here up with a sock full of butter.

The song seemed cute on the first time through. It got worse as he had to ride a second and third time until he picked out all the wrong characters.

Bruce was good at shutting out distractions and watching for minute details, so it probably wasn't a shock that he breezed through in one go.

He also started humming the song loudly as a psychological advantage if anyone were to start catching up to him as he left the road block.

Spock was looking rather like warmed-over hell today--patches were, in fact, still grey--but he was present, which was better than he'd managed yesterday. His observational skills were, under normal circumstances, excellent, but today he was not at his best.

It took him a few trips. By the last one his Vulcan calm was seriously fraying.

They got to run around the Happiest Place On Earth!!! How awesome was THAT?!?!

Hank missed a few of the characters the first time around, because he was too busy singing along with the song.

Like a little cheerfulness was going to put Stephanie off?

Not even, and the exercise was a prime opportunity to work on blocking out the distractions (though she couldn't help humming along) and spotting what was out of place.

She even managed it on a single try, which resulted in her having to apologize to the person getting out of the boat after her when her fistpump of victory clipped the woman on the side of the chin. Oooooops.

Thanks, but Mercy would prefer to avoid huge crowds, thank you very much. The smells were overwhelming (seriously, who needed that much aftershave and perfume!) and the noise hurt her ears.

Wandering through Disneyland was actually fun, so Mercy didn't hurry as much as she could have.

Cara was not the happiest of campers when she arrived in front of the mountain, but at least no one had seemed to be maimed in the meanwhile, and anyway, no one could prove she'd punched that one guy who'd come too close into her space.

"That roadblock was cruel and unusual punishment," Jim grumbled as he trudged up to queue.

He was going to be humming that song for a month.

Seifer was bouncing and humming that song when he got to Tahiri.

"Any chance we can get the island to stay here for a while?"

Annie sort of loved Euro Disney! Know what else she loved? Not seeing any of the other students there when she arrived! "Did I win?"

We don't win class, Annie.

This is the real reason Stephanie didn't get a memorial.
