Try Not to Die!!!! [Tuesday, August 9]

There was only one Jedi waiting at the causeway for students to show up, and it wasn't Anakin.

"Hi, everyone," Tahiri said, drawing on her Jedi training to maintain a calm demeanor; no need to alarm people. "Master Skywalker can't be here today, it seems."

She gestured across the causeway to the Disney castle (then back to Fandom's castle, then back to the Disney one again with a slight shake of her head) before turning back to the students with a slight smile. "But as you might have guessed by now, that doesn't mean you won't be exploring our new location. I assure you, it's much safer than the last one." Actually, given the aggressive cheerfulness of their new neighboring locale, that might be debatable.

She cleared her throat, glanced around the group, and continued. "I advise you not to take it for granted that this will be simple, despite our surroundings, so keep that in mind, and . . ." Tahiri gestured toward the clue box as she stepped away. "Try not to die, or kill anyone else. Please."

Given some of the students in the class, and the fact that she was sending them into Disneyland, that second bit was a perfectly valid concern.

"Four times," he grumbled, shaking his head in disbelief. "I had to go through four times."

Cruel. And unusual. Punishment.

Jim actually seemed to be seriously considering that statement.

"If it had broken down, would the music have stopped?"

Because there was some part of him that was considering breaking into the control room to blow something up, now.

"... Well, that's no good, then." Yeah, Jim wasn't even going to try pretending that he'd had anything but trouble in mind, here. "I guess the only other option is to rig up those boats to go faster."

The things he should have thought of while he was still stuck in the ride.

"Well, I would have done it today," Jim noted, "but I was having trouble thinking past the, uh... music."

If it could be called music.

"Plus, I was trying to pay attention to the creepy singing dolls so that I could get it done without having to go through five or six times."

But now that he was through, there was nothing stopping him.

Except possibly security.

Oh, Tahiri. You were Jim's new favourite TA. Hands-down.

"Oh, yeah? Well, class has got to be almost over now, right?"

What with him taking so long in that stupid tunnel ride in the first place.
