There was only one Jedi waiting at the causeway for students to show up, and it wasn't Anakin.

"Hi, everyone," Tahiri said, drawing on her Jedi training to maintain a calm demeanor; no need to alarm people. "Master Skywalker can't be here today, it seems."

She gestured across the causeway to the Disney castle (then back to Fandom's castle, then back to the Disney one again with a slight shake of her head) before turning back to the students with a slight smile. "But as you might have guessed by now, that doesn't mean you won't be exploring our new location. I assure you, it's much safer than the last one." Actually, given the aggressive cheerfulness of their new neighboring locale, that might be debatable.

She cleared her throat, glanced around the group, and continued. "I advise you not to take it for granted that this will be simple, despite our surroundings, so keep that in mind, and . . ." Tahiri gestured toward the clue box as she stepped away. "Try not to die, or kill anyone else. Please."

Given some of the students in the class, and the fact that she was sending them into Disneyland, that second bit was a perfectly valid concern.

Like someone is trying to put mouse ears on you.

The first clue sends you all the way through Disneyland Paris into Fantasyland, and into the ride queue for it's a small world. That's right -- you're not escaping this place without a trip around the world on the happiest cruise that ever sailed.

Once the ever-so-cheerful ride attendants have helped you into your boat, your task is to pick out the one animatronic character in each of the rooms that's glaringly out of place. Miss one or get one wrong and you get to go around the ride again!

Good luck getting the song out of your head afterward.

The first choice gives you more breathing room, but will require you to run all over the park. The second is less strenous going, but more claustrophobic.

If you chose this detour, you get a camera, a brightly-colored autograph book, and a map of Disneyland. Your task is to find seven Disney characters, get them to sign your autograph books, and take a picture with them -- but remember that they're only at certain photo-op locations for limited amounts of time, so you'd better hurry, and find another one elsewhere if you miss one. After you get the seventh autograph, the final character will give you your next clue.

If you chose this detour, you have to make your way across the center of the park from Space Mountain in Discoveryland to Phantom Manor in Frontierland. While a parade is going on. Which means all of Main Street will be jammed with crowds of people, and most of the main paths will be cordoned off for the parade route.

On the way, you have to stop at one popcorn cart, two souvenir carts, an ice cream cart, and a beverage cart and pick up a small token at each of them. When you get to the gates of Phantom Manor, show your tokens to the ride attendant to get your next clue.

"Help, help, I can't get that small world song out of my head" actually is a valid request this time.

Your final clue will send you to Adventureland and on the River Rogue Keel Boats across the Rivers of the Far West to find Tahiri, who is waiting for you at the front of the Big Thunder Mountain ride queue.

I refuse to admit to how much time, exactly, I spent sidetracked because I planned the routes out from memory of Disneyland in Anaheim, then double-checked to compare the layouts with Disneyland Paris, and then got distracted reading the differences (UM PHANTOM MANOR IS WAY DIFFERENT FROM HAUNTED MANSION AND I WANT TO RIDE IT SO BADLY).

Luckily, Mord'Sith were used to torture, and Cara had that persistent dull throbbing in her arm to distract her from the 'music'.

And the dolls, so she had to go around again.

Cara was really in no mood for dealing with large groups of people, but even less for a wild goose chase, so crowds it was. You could almost see the bubble of people with enough survival instincts to avoid the cranky Mord'Sith form around her.

A very slow moving bubble.

Cara was not the happiest of campers when she arrived in front of the mountain, but at least no one had seemed to be maimed in the meanwhile, and anyway, no one could prove she'd punched that one guy who'd come too close into her space.

Oh, no.

Jim almost groaned as he went through the ride once, twice...

He had no eye for what was and wasn't out of place, here. Earth was so uniform compared to Montressor! And then after the second trip through, the song had started to grit at him, and...

He was grinding his teeth by the time he managed to get past today's roadblock. He was grinding his teeth a lot.

Oh, Jim had a lot of catching up to do after his fourth trip through that ride, and so help him, he wasn't going on any more rides today if he could help it. So... autographs. Those weren't so difficult to get. He didn't have his solar surfer here for this, but he could run and jump with the best of them, and while he wasn't so familiar with crowds, avoiding obstacles was something he excelled at.

Now he just had to wiggle his way to the people in the crazy costumes around the little kids who wanted to get their turn first.

Sigh.

"That roadblock was cruel and unusual punishment," Jim grumbled as he trudged up to queue.

He was going to be humming that song for a month.

Seifer Almasy

Seifer was used to ignoring distractions, but he still had to go through the ride a second time, because he missed one. One.

And now he was humming that damn song.

Seifer was actually liking this place. It was fun, there were things to do, and he was totally spending the rest of the day here after class. Hell, probably the last week.

As it was, he was having fun with this detour, stopping at the stands and getting his tokens.

And if he used the line 'Coming through, need to get to my sister before she blows up my credit card' more than a dozen times... well, it got the parents to grin and move their kids.

Seifer was bouncing and humming that song when he got to Tahiri.

"Any chance we can get the island to stay here for a while?"

This is an incredibly sound hypothesis.

Jedi powers did not include 'let very short people see long distances through heavy crowds,' so Tahiri had no suspicion of punching, anyway.

"You're fifteenth today, Cara," Tahiri told her.

Tahiri gave him an apologetic look. "Had to go around more than once, huh? Hi, Jim. You're thirteenth."
