Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

It might have been the start of the fall semester, but it was definitely still summer in Fandom. The sun was shining and the temperature was already starting to get high, even as the NPC crew set things up for the day.

Luckily, the school knew how to take care of folks on days like today. Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with cold drinks and food, and an entire section devoted to offering up different moddable ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

With everything set up and the crew out of the way, it was time for the picnic to begin!

A good scotch would have helped Kerrigan, back in the day. Now, she had liquid curiosity to go on, tilting her head up and keeping an eye on the students as they passed her by.

She looked remarkably at ease.

Fraser had lost count of how many of these he'd attended but that wasn't ever going to stop him from coming. He was out there now, in full uniform, looking refreshed from his trip and pleased with the new arrivals.

Hey, Reno loved these welcome picnic things! It was like his first opportunity of the semester to scope out the fresh meat! Or something like that. Daaaamn, look at all the bewildered little rookies running around, and they had no idea what they were in for.

Which would be why he was smirking as he casually tossed an apple back and forth from one hand to the other.

Zoe was feeling a little somber today now that both Dean and Sam were off the island. But, she was trying not to show it, and keep herself in a celebratory mood. Keeping an eye on Grace, who she was letting walk around unattached as a test to see how she'd do, was helping with that a lot.

Henry came out to the picnic, as he normally did.

One eye was devoted to scouting out potential library aides. The other eye was for Cindy. If she came back. (He knew she had a class listed, but he'd still believe it when he saw it.)

He clutched coffee as he roamed restlessly around the lawn.

After bypassing the corpse to be, Sherlock stopped at the librarian. Who, most importantly, had coffee.

"You work here. Explain," he said with a wave of his hand out at the teeming mass of hormones and shirtlessness.

Getting roped into teaching a full term was not at all in John's idea of a plan. But it wasn't likely to end in death so he was rolling with it. And eating from the buffet because it was there.

For some reason being back at the welcome picnic was the first thing that had really made Jaina feel like she was off her game after a few years away. So of course she had to not stalk find someone who had probably been there.

"This is weird," she announced.

Yes, yes, Farnsworth was there. He mostly looked like perhaps he should go inside and take a nap, but he was really just quietly planning the complicated demises of a random sampling of the people around him.

He had to keep himself entertained somehow, right?

Sherlock had been about to question the fossil over there, but considering how close the man was to death, it was probably best to talk to someone else.

And no one liked the elderly.

There were very few things that could surprise Sherlock. Especially when it came to his brother's machinations.

But this was... unforseen.

"Oh god, he's sent me to a primary school."

Yes, he was aware it was higher education than that, but judging by the population, their intelligence was of that level. And he was a petty, petty man.

Which seemed to consist of snagging a plate of food and making rude comments about people as they passed. Oh, the fun times.

Kūkaku was having a bit of a difficult time keeping her nametag on her chest; it didn't like to stick to flesh as much as cloth and, unfortunately, there was far more flesh there than cloth, but it didn't concern her much. She just kept reattaching it while looking over all that food. It was enough to keep her mind off explosions for a few minutes.

Well, until she started thinking of blowing up the jello mold. It could be spectacular!

Summer loved welcome picnics and wasn't going to miss out on the latest one. She had a small plate of fruit to munch on and was watching the students as they milled about.

It was safe to say Summer was excited about the new term.

For the most part, Jaina had been able to just roll with how things hadn't changed in five years. But this was weird. Especially since she was automatically trying to make sure that she wasn't related to anyone and didn't sense anyone she shouldn't have. It looked a lot like standing around and watching.

Anakin never missed a picnic if he could help it--it was far better to learn immediately which timeline his various relatives had fallen from--so he was sticking to the side, memorizing new faces.

So, he just settled for cupping his hands in front of his chest in what might have been an exaggerated fashion had she not been drawn by Kubo Tite.

Steve was here, ready to greet the students, but also looking around for, perhaps, a Victorian detective. Possibly wearing a deerstalker hat. He wasn't sure on specifics. Possibly he was just looking for someone with parents who were fans of historical crime, or else evil. Who knew?
