It might have been the start of the fall semester, but it was definitely still summer in Fandom. The sun was shining and the temperature was already starting to get high, even as the NPC crew set things up for the day.

Luckily, the school knew how to take care of folks on days like today. Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with cold drinks and food, and an entire section devoted to offering up different ~~moddable~~ ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

With everything set up and the crew out of the way, it was time for the picnic to begin!

She smirked a little and noted, "So you're teaching and running the gym. You do realize you have as many jobs as I do now." Not bad for a lazy guy.

"Yeah, but my jobs are far less active," John pointed out..

"I work behind a bar," Jaina reminded him. "What do you think I'm doing back there that makes it more active?"

John smirked, but said nothing.

"I can only imagine what you're thinking but I know it's dirty and no, I do not do that behind the bar," she laughed.

"I'd offer to show you fun ways to pass the time behind the bar, but I know you'll just say no." She was all good and anti hooking up after all.

And yet when he said things, it was a little tempting. "Well, there is that thing where it might get me fired... And what would Tino say?" Yes, she was joking about that last part.

"What, Wallace would fire you for hanging out with me? I don't think so."

"Well, if you just want to hang out, come in to the bar and we'll see if Wallace cares," she said. She actually meant hanging out, too.

"When you say hang out like that, I don't think you mean hang out," John pointed out to her.

"...I blame your influence. I mean hang out in the general, friendlike way," she assured him. Probably with some degree of flirting, but hey.

"Friendlike?" John made a face.

"Uslike," she amended. They really hadn't done well with categories in a long time. 'Uslike' was probably a better term. "Seriously, if you're up for it, show. I don't expect a busy night with all the new people just coming in, and you keep things interesting."
