It might have been the start of the fall semester, but it was definitely still summer in Fandom. The sun was shining and the temperature was already starting to get high, even as the NPC crew set things up for the day.

Luckily, the school knew how to take care of folks on days like today. Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with cold drinks and food, and an entire section devoted to offering up different ~~moddable~~ ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

With everything set up and the crew out of the way, it was time for the picnic to begin!

"If this is a recycled Dora plot, I'm going to kick your ass," Anakin said.

"Nah, that would involve a snow princess."

...yeah.

Anakin shuddered. "Swiper no swiping!" he said. "I will kill that damn fox."

And this was why he didn't get to watch a lot of television with Juliet.

"God, I wanna kill that goddamn fox. It's just a horrible lesson for children."

"It is," Anakin agreed. "No show should inspire violence in the parents. It's unethical."

Run, ethics students. Run.

Deadpool sighed, happy to find someone who understood his irrational rage! "We should write a petition. With swords."

"Can we copy it to the damn Little Einstein people to? And that kriffing Special Agent Oso bear?"

"Oh! Oh! And Martha Speaks. What the shit is that all about?!"

They were so those parents.

"I don't know but if Juliet starts feeding the dog alphabet soup, I'm going to kill someone at PBS," Anakin declared.

"Yeah," Deadpool grumbled. "Jan did that with Tether."

A beat.

"And me when I was a dingo."

"I hate myself for asking, but it didn't work, right?" Anakin checked.

"No, but it was pretty good."

He snickered. "I'll remember for your next transformation," he promised.

"Hey, it's better than being a cat." A mangy cat.

"I'll punch you in the face again."

"Man were you an ugly cat!" Look, the man had no sense of self preservation.

Anakin punched him again.

"Heeeeey!" Which only meant Deadpool punched him back. Like the mature, responsible adults they both were.

"I told you I was going to," Anakin retorted, holding his hand up to his face. "And ow."

"Truce?" Deadpool said warily, holding up a fist for bumping.

"Fine," Anakin said, bumping Deadpool's fist.

"Before Nate and that Rory chick of yours find out about this." There would be frowning and crap.

"She'd dump coffee on you for finding me anything less than adorable as a cat," Anakin replied.

Or yell a lot at Anakin for being stupid. The second one was far more likely.

"...has she seen you as a cat?"

"She's the one who adds the blue ribbon," Anakin grumbled.
