Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

It might have been the start of the fall semester, but it was definitely still summer in Fandom. The sun was shining and the temperature was already starting to get high, even as the NPC crew set things up for the day.

Luckily, the school knew how to take care of folks on days like today. Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with cold drinks and food, and an entire section devoted to offering up different ~~moddable~~ ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

With everything set up and the crew out of the way, it was time for the picnic to begin!

Anakin never missed a picnic if he could help it--it was far better to learn immediately which timeline his various relatives had fallen from--so he was sticking to the side, memorizing new faces.

"Skywalker," Deadpool said with a nod. "Have you seen the chick with--"

He was at a loss as to how to explain the bustiness of her.

THE BUSTINESS.

So, he just settled for cupping his hands in front of his chest in what might have been an exaggerated fashion had she not been drawn by Kubo Tite.

"She's a little hard to miss," Anakin said with a tiny smile. "Hopefully the teenagers won't slobber all over her."

Deadpool just shot him a look. "That's like askin' them to not notice that there's this thing called the sun."

"Given the intelligence level of some of them, it could work," Anakin mused.

"You know, we could probably tell some of them that her chest is the sun..."

Anakin snickered. "Definitely. Did you drive the new kids this year?"

"Nah, there was a Dora the Explorer marathon on." Wow, Deadpool. Wow.

"...shut up."

Please hold. Anakin was going to need a moment to remember how to breathe while laughing hysterically.

"Hey, just because Jan is learning to be poly-lingual and whatever those stupid books on child rearing talk about and your kid is just a ball of semi-fail..."

"I will punch you right in the face," Anakin told him.

"Ha! Jan is so much better than Juliet." DAMN IT. HE SAID THE SPROGLET'S NAME.

It was a moral imperative now.

Anakin swung straight for Deadpool's face.

And down when the Deadpool. OH SNAP.

"...see, I hadn't actually expected that," he informed Anakin, wiping his mouth.

Anakin shrugged. "I warned you."

"Yeah, but most people here are all talk," Deadpool pointed out.

"I strike you as the all talk type?" Anakin replied with a little snort.

There was a thoughtful pause there. "Okay, true. But someday you will be. Like that time you kept crying."

NEVER. LET IT. GO.

Anakin glared. "I would have punched him too."

"He did deserve a lot of punching." See, that's how you toughened a whiner up! Violence!

What awesome parents they were!

"It's not like he could've cried harder," Anakin mused.

They totally were!

"Oh, I dunno. We coulda made that happen."

Somewhere... someone was thinking about calling DCFS.

"True," agreed the guy who'd blown up his daughter's planet and cut off his son's arm. "Of course, I wasn't here at the time..."

Deadpool was totally buying him a #1 Dad coffee mug for Christmas.

"See, this is why we need someone who looks like you in town. The guy who looks like me just left..."

"I've never had a doppelganger come to the island," Anakin mused. "Is it odd seeing your face on a clearly inferior person?"
