Self Defense and Kickassery for Dummies; Thursday Fifth Period [2ndst. Class]

One by one the students would be dropping by on their nicely simulated dojo, only to find Faith already there, stretching. Well, at least it was better than to be greeted by a completely uninterested glance. This time as well she kept it quiet until the time for her class actually started as well. Being as unresourceful as she was with words, she wasn't about to misuse the few ones she had prepared beforehand. Still, each student would get a small nod as a greeting, and then ordered to sit quietly on the tatami -no chairs this time, but the padded floor was pretty comfortable-, or to stretch as well; as long as they remained silent, it was fine for her.

Once the time for the class to start actually arrived, she got the group sitting in the tatami, and cleared her throat.

"And now it's time for class number two; I expect you have been training all this time."

She didn't, actually, but it was fun to make them feel guilty.

"Last time we got into the basics, and saw our first kata; hard isn't it? At least for those without experience, the approach was probably a pain in the ass." Faith smirked. "That was the idea; that kata isn't the first or the easier that there is; actually, it's a pretty long one, considering most katas last less than a minute." Oh Faith, you were such a bad, bad person. "Anyway, this second class was thought to be focused entirely on learning a new kata, but come on, you didn't sign into this class to do the same stuff all the time. So, while we will be seeing another kata indeed, and I promise this one will be far more accessible, I'll also test your overall fighting skills; one by one I'll be having a one-on-one with you." Malicious smiles ensued here as Faith walked around the group. "This won't be a real fight, and I'll be letting you land some attacks on me, actually, but this will serve for me to be able to point your weak spots, so you can keep them in mind if you ever need to defend yourselves."

Scully stepped up, stance set, and tensed up, waiting for an attack.

Scully slammed her elbow back, not as effectively as she once would have, and tried to stomp on Faith's foot at the same time, hard. The mental reflexes were there, even if the body's were no where near as directed.

Leda was not afraid to get her ass kicked a little. All for a good cause right?

Leda came forward. Her experience with fighting was mostly with knives, magic, or just trying to escape. Her stance probably reflected the knife fighting bit.

She opened with a kick at Faith's sternum.

Yes, Asuna was here. If she was going to keep her word to Negi she was going to have to step up to every challenge.

Since kicking was Asuna's favorite move, it was a surprise to have to face it. She did manage, barely in time to raise her arms to block Faith's kick, if she timed it right she could hold Faith's leg and maybe throw her off.

What, pass up a chance for this spar? What did you think she was, crazy? Don't answer that.

Kennedy practically bounced toward the sparring area, but she was all business once she entered it, hands loosely curled and up in guard position. "Every freaking day," she said by way of answering Faith's earlier comment about training every day. If there was a distinct undercurrent of duh there, well... duh.

Sparring someone who had a pretty good idea of how an older and better version of her fought. This would go so well, wouldn't it?

Kennedy without Slayer powers was never going to get the edge on Faith, but actually pointing this out to her might not do any good. A hit to the ribs might, though; instinct and reflexes without the speed weren't enough to get her out of the way in time, and yeah, there was flinching despite her best efforts to pretend there wasn't.

"Yep." She came back with the fastest (still not fast enough) right cross to Faith's jaw that she could manage. "Today's the day, party's tomorrow."

Oh, this was going to be fun!

Alice might even refrain from cheating and using her ability to see what moves Faith would make. Might.

She still had a little grudge against the woman for the whole monster-hunting thing. But only a little.

Alice was used to rude. She'd spent time around Jacob, remember?

"Not human," Alice replied with a peaceful smile. "But not bad, either."

Holding herself loosely, Dru waited for Faith's first move.

Technically they'd never hunted vampires, and in fact had kept as far away from them as they could. Her dad never wanted a vamp to find out that Dru existed because that would have been bad bad news.

Dru'd been watching Faith's movements and had tried to duck out. Tried being the operative word. She stumbled back a few steps before finding her balance again. "I'm unarmed and you've got slayer speed and strength working for you. This is the part where my dad would have said get the hell out of Dodge and fight another day."

Not that Dru was going to do that. It sort of defeated the purpose of the class after all.

And now Claudia was convinced she was about to die.

Yeah, she clearly had about zero experience with this stuff.

Jason wasn't sure if there was any outcome of this exercise that wouldn't suck, and it took a second for him to get past the idea of fighting a teacher - and a girl - and realize that half-assing his efforts wouldn't help, and he needed to give this his best shot.

"Try not to break anything, will you?" he said, starting off in a defensive position.

Claire had no doubt that Faith could kick her ass but she was excited to learn from her anyway.

She stepped up when it was her turn and fell into an easy ready stance.
