Self Defense and Kickassery for Dummies; Thursday Fifth Period [2ndst. Class]

One by one the students would be dropping by on their nicely simulated dojo, only to find Faith already there, stretching. Well, at least it was better than to be greeted by a completely uninterested glance. This time as well she kept it quiet until the time for her class actually started as well. Being as unresourceful as she was with words, she wasn't about to misuse the few ones she had prepared beforehand. Still, each student would get a small nod as a greeting, and then ordered to sit quietly on the tatami -no chairs this time, but the padded floor was pretty comfortable-, or to stretch as well; as long as they remained silent, it was fine for her.

Once the time for the class to start actually arrived, she got the group sitting in the tatami, and cleared her throat.

"And now it's time for class number two; I expect you have been training all this time."

She didn't, actually, but it was fun to make them feel guilty.

"Last time we got into the basics, and saw our first kata; hard isn't it? At least for those without experience, the approach was probably a pain in the ass." Faith smirked. "That was the idea; that kata isn't the first or the easier that there is; actually, it's a pretty long one, considering most katas last less than a minute." Oh Faith, you were such a bad, bad person. "Anyway, this second class was thought to be focused entirely on learning a new kata, but come on, you didn't sign into this class to do the same stuff all the time. So, while we will be seeing another kata indeed, and I promise this one will be far more accessible, I'll also test your overall fighting skills; one by one I'll be having a one-on-one with you." Malicious smiles ensued here as Faith walked around the group. "This won't be a real fight, and I'll be letting you land some attacks on me, actually, but this will serve for me to be able to point your weak spots, so you can keep them in mind if you ever need to defend yourselves."

Scully slammed her elbow back, not as effectively as she once would have, and tried to stomp on Faith's foot at the same time, hard. The mental reflexes were there, even if the body's were no where near as directed.

Scully grimaced in frustration, wanting to snap I know this but aware that her performance so far wouldn't back that up. She nodded sharply, and scrambled back to her feet. "Right."

Then she aimed a kick at Faith's knee, and then threw a punch at her jaw. Both well-aimed, but too slow, and her balance was off-- she knew it, could feel it, but couldn't correct quickly.

A much harder thud this time, and Scully was rolling over as fast as she could, and kicking out toward Faith blindly as she staggered back to her feet. Taller person, larger person, faster person, how to try and take her down-- She ducked her head, and aimed a tackle right at Faith's midsection, gritting her teeth and giving it everything her smaller body had, trying to get her to fold with impact.

[ooc: too funny not to forgive it!]

"Owwwwwww."

Ow. Ow. Okay, if Faith had been a serial killer, Scully would be dead now. "That was ... very effective." She sat up, face pinched up in pain, breathing hard. "Damnit." She shouldn't have been able to do that! Most women would not be able to just lift her even if she was smaller than usual at that angle, and... and... "Thank you for not dropping me on my head."

Because she could have, and Scully had the feeling Faith might be making a point about that with the ... whatever it was that just landed her on the mats. Owwwww.

"I would hope so. Or I'd be in a wheelchair at the least." Scully winced, and carefully rolled her shoulders, checking for anything more than bruises; nothing. "What did I do wrong?"

Faith was still standing, Scully wasn't; ergo, she made an error, somewhere.

Scully's face flooded with color, and she closed her eyes for a second before she got her breath back. "Right." She knew better. She did. She hadn't even been angry with Faith, but with the situation, and-- "Stupid." She climbed to her feet, gritting her teeth, then stopped, trying to calm down again. "What would you suggest I do first instead?"

"I'm comfortable with firearms," Scully commented, most of her composure back in place. "And -- thanks. Your points are well-taken."

Even if Scully was going to beat her head on her desk for an hour for her lack of impulse control today.
