Self Defense and Kickassery for Dummies; Thursday Fifth Period [2ndst. Class]

One by one the students would be dropping by on their nicely simulated dojo, only to find Faith already there, stretching. Well, at least it was better than to be greeted by a completely uninterested glance. This time as well she kept it quiet until the time for her class actually started as well. Being as unresourceful as she was with words, she wasn't about to misuse the few ones she had prepared beforehand. Still, each student would get a small nod as a greeting, and then ordered to sit quietly on the tatami -no chairs this time, but the padded floor was pretty comfortable-, or to stretch as well; as long as they remained silent, it was fine for her.

Once the time for the class to start actually arrived, she got the group sitting in the tatami, and cleared her throat.

"And now it's time for class number two; I expect you have been training all this time."

She didn't, actually, but it was fun to make them feel guilty.

"Last time we got into the basics, and saw our first kata; hard isn't it? At least for those without experience, the approach was probably a pain in the ass." Faith smirked. "That was the idea; that kata isn't the first or the easier that there is; actually, it's a pretty long one, considering most katas last less than a minute." Oh Faith, you were such a bad, bad person. "Anyway, this second class was thought to be focused entirely on learning a new kata, but come on, you didn't sign into this class to do the same stuff all the time. So, while we will be seeing another kata indeed, and I promise this one will be far more accessible, I'll also test your overall fighting skills; one by one I'll be having a one-on-one with you." Malicious smiles ensued here as Faith walked around the group. "This won't be a real fight, and I'll be letting you land some attacks on me, actually, but this will serve for me to be able to point your weak spots, so you can keep them in mind if you ever need to defend yourselves."

Please, like Kennedy wasn't going to pay attention in this class? It was kind of like training, only a lot less stuffy and Watcher-y.

Scully had at least been for a few runs during the week, even if she only practiced the kata once. That was going to change, though.

Dana did the much simpler kata this week, and wasn't nearly as frustrated.

Except for how she wanted to be doing the other kata perfectly, of course.

Chloe decided to go the smart way with this and she started working on the simpler kata first. She figured that she would be able to work up to the more advanced one eventually.

Asuna liked challenging herself and set-up for the kickass kata. She was still a little sore from the spar the other day but she still went through with the kata.

Kennedy wanted to skip over the simpler kata, but out of some bizarre sense of obligation (like setting an example and not looking like a slacker in front of Faith) she went through the first one twice, systematically, before launching into the more complicated one.

Yeah, she might've been a little too aware of it, and it might've showed, but she knew what she was doing.

Alice did the kickass kata and made it look easy. Between the natural vampiric grace and the fact that Jasper had taught her more than a few things... and her own natural curiosity at wanting to learn... she couldn't help it, really.

There was no way Alex was going to take on the kickass kata right away. She started with the simpler kata, taking it slow like last week.

Maybe she'd get up to the kickass kata one day.
