Self Defense and Kickassery for Dummies; Thursday Fifth Period [2ndst. Class]
One by one the students would be dropping by on their nicely simulated dojo, only to find Faith already there, stretching. Well, at least it was better than to be greeted by a completely uninterested glance. This time as well she kept it quiet until the time for her class actually started as well. Being as unresourceful as she was with words, she wasn't about to misuse the few ones she had prepared beforehand. Still, each student would get a small nod as a greeting, and then ordered to sit quietly on the tatami -no chairs this time, but the padded floor was pretty comfortable-, or to stretch as well; as long as they remained silent, it was fine for her.
Once the time for the class to start actually arrived, she got the group sitting in the tatami, and cleared her throat.
"And now it's time for class number two; I expect you have been training all this time."
She didn't, actually, but it was fun to make them feel guilty.
"Last time we got into the basics, and saw our first kata; hard isn't it? At least for those without experience, the approach was probably a pain in the ass." Faith smirked. "That was the idea; that kata isn't the first or the easier that there is; actually, it's a pretty long one, considering most katas last less than a minute." Oh Faith, you were such a bad, bad person. "Anyway, this second class was thought to be focused entirely on learning a new kata, but come on, you didn't sign into this class to do the same stuff all the time. So, while we will be seeing another kata indeed, and I promise this one will be far more accessible, I'll also test your overall fighting skills; one by one I'll be having a one-on-one with you." Malicious smiles ensued here as Faith walked around the group. "This won't be a real fight, and I'll be letting you land some attacks on me, actually, but this will serve for me to be able to point your weak spots, so you can keep them in mind if you ever need to defend yourselves."

Re: One on One with Faith
"Yep." She came back with the fastest (still not fast enough) right cross to Faith's jaw that she could manage. "Today's the day, party's tomorrow."
Re: One on One with Faith
"Hm." Faith saw the fist coming a long way, but instead of moving away, she let it connect; her face moved inches only, as she pretty much hit the fist with her face; while it hurt, she hoped it had also left Kennedy's hand with something to feel later. "Not going entirely easy on you, then", added as she held the arm that had hit her, and doing a fast judo throw.
The tatami was soft enough, or so Faith hoped. "I didn't even get you a present."
Re: One on One with Faith
That was a moot point a second later, when she hit the mat, and did she mention ow? Kennedy was grinning anyway. "Feel kinda ripped off if you did."
Kicking out at Faith's ankle while she said it, yeah.
Re: One on One with Faith
Getting on the defensive stance again, Faith waited. "Come on, give me something to work with here." Even if the premise was not to break anyone, Faith was having fun.
Re: One on One with Faith
"Oh," she replied, levering herself back up to her feet and not waiting a second before coming in with a hook kick to the ribs, "it's been brought now." Or so she thought. But the point here was that she was enjoying this.
Re: One on One with Faith
Again she let the hit connect; it was a good excercise for her muscles anyway, and while Kennedy had the raw potential, she didn't hit that strong. Not like some of Buffy's punches anyway. Not yet, corrected herself as used the girl's attack to deliver her own, in the form of her open palm against Kennedy's chest...just that very, very hard. Talk about running out of air.
Re: One on One with Faith
Then she was doubled over and gasping, but still too damn stubborn not to try and slam her own open palm into Faith's elbow. Blindly, but she was trying here.
Re: One on One with Faith
"I think you can protect yourself from pretty much anything, so let's stop here." She didn't let go through. Faith wanted confirmation before doing anything.
Re: One on One with Faith
Purely on instinct-- maybe it was a Potential thing, maybe it was just too many years of training-- Kennedy shifted her center of balance hard, going for the throw. So maybe the lesson was done for now, but like she was going to call it quits that easily? Stubborn kid.
Re: One on One with Faith
"Now stay on the mat until you can think clearly." She seriously didn't want to knock her out. "...And happy birthday, I guess."
Re: One on One with Faith
She had to lie there for a minute or two to blink her eyes back into focus and get her breath back, but there was that grin again. Man, she could get behind the idea of being able to do that so easily.
"Thanks, I think."
