BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]
Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.
So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
Possibly because if Jono was looking at that, it would be more difficult for people to make eye contact with the scarred goth boy with half his face covered.

Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
Well, by pretty much everything about the way he looked, he supposed. He glanced up from the brochure at the faint notion that somebody might be watching him.
Spotting Eric, he raised an eyebrow and gave him a look that was most definitely meant to convey, 'and can I help you?'
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
He wasn't a fighter by any means, but someone had to protect these lovely ladies.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
Yep. Fandom High. That was absolutely his destination.
Bugger, he missed having a mouth.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
"Oh, hey, are you deaf?" he asked. Because obviously if he was deaf, he would be able to answer the question. Eric wasn't the type to make that logical leap though.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
One finger tapped against the wrappings on his face in hopes of cementing that point as fact. He was really going to have to work on his skills at charades, if he was going to keep this up for any period of time.

//No,// Jono projected as he gave his head a shake. //I'm a bloody mute, you barmy plonker.//
Oh, yes. That decision to avoid using his telepathy had lasted so long. Well done, Starsmore.

He raised an eyebrow questioningly, looking between the long-haired boy and the pamphlet in his hand. And then he tilted his head.
See? Perfectly expressive.
... If you were a cat or something, perhaps.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
"The school," he elaborated, nodding toward the pamphlet. "If that's one of the brochures for it and it's saying the place is normal, it's a lie. They've got all kinds like that; they don't mention anything about how weird this place is."
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
Yeah, right.
He furrowed his eyebrows a little, glancing at the pamphlet once again. And then he shrugged and pocketed it. Well, fine, he wouldn't be needing that if it was a terrible lie, would he?
He hesitated for a moment, and then, tentatively, he spoke. One quick telepathic syllable. An //Oh?// that he figured he could pass off as the wind if need be.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
"I'm Cal," he offered, with an extended hand, "by the way."
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
//Jonothon. It's a pleasure.//
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
Interesting. But it was Fandom, right? There were weirder things. Cal should know...
"So, uh, where are you from, Jonothon?"
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
Thank goodness.
//England, originally. Massachusetts more recently. Although I think I just flew in from Ireland. It's gettin' bloody difficult to keep track.// To say the least. //Yerself?//

Whatever was in that was pretty much everything he knew about the school they were about to go to. The boy he'd just spoken to had said it lied, of course. It looked far too much like a normal school, or something of the sort.

//Especially for a class with two years left,// he offered. Warily. //I'm a junior as well, from the look of it.//
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
"Oh! Should I think back at you, or talk with my mouth?" she asked.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
//With yer mouth, if yer please,// he replied. //I can't read thoughts, but my ears work just fine, luv. This only works one-way.//
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
She smiled, that settled. "So we'll be in the same grade, huh? I'm Didi."
Re: Wait for the Shuttle!
That was... more or less an invitation to call him Jono as well, yes.
