BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

//I've got my doubts about that one,// Jonothon replied, shaking his head again. //The tight leather uniforms 're probably a draw, but can yer imagine bein' shot at by superpowered villains day in and out?//

Jono could. That was probably one of the less appealing parts of the job, actually.

... Apparently.

//Now I've half a mind to ask what yer would be doin' as a superhero, now that we know yer can read the mind of one stranger while waitin' for the bus.//

Only half a mind. If he really, really wanted to know, he probably would have found himself questioning his own sanity.

//That's not what I said.//

This wasn't just an American thing, was it? This boy was actually, really that slow? How did he make it to the terminal without a stewardess holding his hand?
furnaceface: (Shock)

//Well, won't that put a damper on yer plans to be a superhero.//

Jono was almost sad about that. Or, at least, he would have been if this twonk was actually able to read minds in the first place. There were just moments when you had to stop and visualize the dumb ones making absolute arses of themselves in capes and bright spandex.

//Best of luck with that, Sunshine,// Jono mused, rolling his eyes again for good measure. //I hear it works better if yer make a point to look absolutely off yer trolley while yer practising, too.//

Hey, he might as well have fun with the guy.

//I'm Jonothon. And no, there probably aren't.// Yanks. This particular Yank. Just shake your head, Jono. Shake it and resist the urge to pat him on the head.

Oh, it explained so much.
