Gun Club meeting - Gun Range, 4pm
Parker walks onto the range, her .Sig and Glock in their locked case, and makes sure everything is ready. She posts the following two notices, to be read by everyone who wants to participate:
Ten Commandments of Firearms Safety
1. Treat every gun with the respect due a loaded gun.
2. Watch that muzzle! Be able to control the direction of the muzzle even if you should stumble.
3. Be sure barrel and action are clear of obstructions and that you have only ammunition of the proper size for the gun you are carrying.
4. Be sure of your target before you pull the trigger; know identifying features of the game you hunt. Never shoot at a sound or movement.
5. Unload guns when not in use. Take down or have actions open; guns should be carried in cases to the shooting area.
6. Never point a gun at anything you do not want to shoot; avoid all horseplay with a firearm.
7. Never climb a fence or tree or jump a ditch with a loaded gun; never pull a gun toward you by the muzzle.
8. Never shoot a bullet at a flat, hard surface or water; at target practices be sure your backstop is adequate.
9. Store guns and ammunition separately beyond the reach of children and careless adults.
10. Avoid alcoholic beverages before or during shooting.

DEA Agent shoots self during Gun Safety class
"Anyone who wants to break these rules? Can feel free to talk to our sponsor, Principal Connor, about it. John Connor suggested pin-shooting; anyone who wants to do that, sign up below."
She puts on her hearing protection, puts up a Dracula target, and starts shooting.
Parker will be back in 3-4 hours to interact with anyone who wants to show up. Don't bother NPC'ing her. Have fun!

OOC: Ack! Must leave work and head home now. Cam, Parker, feel free to NPC Janet if you want. (I should actually just make a list of people who can NPC Janet if I'm not online and she's needed and post it in my userinfo, shouldn't I? Because "the usual suspects" is a little too vague.)

"It's very, very different. Not in application, no. But in care? Worlds of difference."
She shows Alanna her .Sig. "Mechanical action starts an internal explosion, which propels the bullet. You have to make sure the gun is clean and put together properly before you even attempt to aim it at anything. Otherwise, it can explode in your hand, if it's dirty or jammed. Got it?"

After setting up with proper precations, he slaps a clip in, assumes the position, and empties the clip. Fast. He brings the target in, puts another on, and sends that paper to its doom.
He again aims, and empties the clip rapidly.
He completes this cycle for the better part of a box of ammo.

Explanation-- step right up!
Parker checks to make sure everyone is getting this.
"The pins can be shot in any order. You keep shooting until the last one is off the table. You *can* reload, if you have to. A maximum time of 15 seconds is allowed per run. You get five runs, and the fastest time is the one that sticks."
"Any questions?"
Re: Explanation-- step right up!
"Now, like she said, you're timed to draw your piece from a ready position and clear the table. You're penalized for each shot extra. If there's 6 pins, which is what I'm used to, you get 6 shots with a 1 second penalty per extra shot. So if you can squeeze off a full clip in 3 seconds, you get penalized versus Bobby Slowpoke who can clear the table in 7."
John has a rare fire in his eyes as he checks his very imposing, very lethal looking firearm.
"Now, this may be a bit overkill, but I've got a 15 round mag and optical sights. Depending on what bracket or where you're shooting, you may be limited to just standard sights, no optics, or revolvers instead of pistols, what have you. Also, rules vary from place to place. Hand off gun, gun on table is a common variance. Gun in holster, hand off gun is another."
"Now. Lemme see what I can do, here."
John nods to the M of the Parker and readies himself for the starting buzzer.
((by pyramid, do you mean arranged in the same plane like a bowling alley or stacked on top of each other like at a carny baseball thing?))
