Parker walks onto the range, her .Sig and Glock in their locked case, and makes sure everything is ready. She posts the following two notices, to be read by everyone who wants to participate:

Ten Commandments of Firearms Safety

1. Treat every gun with the respect due a loaded gun.
2. Watch that muzzle! Be able to control the direction of the muzzle even if you should stumble.
3. Be sure barrel and action are clear of obstructions and that you have only ammunition of the proper size for the gun you are carrying.
4. Be sure of your target before you pull the trigger; know identifying features of the game you hunt. Never shoot at a sound or movement.
5. Unload guns when not in use. Take down or have actions open; guns should be carried in cases to the shooting area.
6. Never point a gun at anything you do not want to shoot; avoid all horseplay with a firearm.
7. Never climb a fence or tree or jump a ditch with a loaded gun; never pull a gun toward you by the muzzle.
8. Never shoot a bullet at a flat, hard surface or water; at target practices be sure your backstop is adequate.
9. Store guns and ammunition separately beyond the reach of children and careless adults.
10. Avoid alcoholic beverages before or during shooting.

DEA Agent shoots self during Gun Safety class

"Anyone who wants to break these rules? Can feel free to talk to our sponsor, Principal Connor, about it. John Connor suggested pin-shooting; anyone who wants to do that, sign up below."

She puts on her hearing protection, puts up a Dracula target, and starts shooting.

Parker will be back in 3-4 hours to interact with anyone who wants to show up. Don't bother NPC'ing her. Have fun!

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

"13 seconds. All pins. And... 12 shots." Parker winces. "That's just your first run, though."

Sam exhales sharply and reloads. She's got the accuracy, but now she needs the speed. She assumes the position and glances at Parker. "Ready when you are."

"Ready... GO!"

Sam shoots, and this time she's certainly faster and using less ammo, but at least one of the pins is still mostly upright and wobbling when she finishes shooting. *grr*

"Wanna try that again?" Parker is shaking her head as the pins reset. "Or use a different gun?"

Sam resists the urge to stick her tongue out at Parker. Mostly. "No, I think I've got it now." She reloads again and resumes her shooting stance. "Not the same without the Jaffa army chasing me," she grumbles.

Parker snickers. "All right then. Ready... GO!" She hits the buzzer again.

Sam draws and fires without thinking, letting her instincts guide her. Her pins fall and her ammo seems better. "Time?"

"Daaaamn, Carter. 11.4 seconds." Parker's looking respectful now. "Want to go with that one, or go with one more? I'm not sure you could beat it."

She rolled her head on her neck to loosen her shoulders. "One more, just for the hell of it." She reloaded. "Ready."

OOC: Just for the sake of suspense, you can call this one. :)

Bang! Bang! Bang! And all the bottles fall, within time, with just a little more ammo.

"11.7. Still damn good. But your fourth time was best." Parker shakes her head. "Make me work for it, why don't you?"

_{[ooc: thanks! But Sam's in the zone, couldn't knock her down!]}

Sam lays her gun on the table and takes the stopwatch from Parker. "Your turn."

Parker shakes out her hands, grins at the watching Michael, and takes her .Sig out, keeping it as John said, low, and at a 45-degree angle. "Ready."

Sam grins. So, it was like that. "Okay...GO!"

Parker took aim and took out the top-- bang! bang, bang! bang! -- then the middle - bang bang bang bang-- and only had to use four extra shots, on the last two pins. Not as fast as she would've liked, but still good.

Sam whistled. "Impressive, Parker. Was that Giuseppe too?"

Parker grins, wrings her fingers out. "No, that was -- well, I had issues with guns. I got over them with a vengeance." She takes a deep breath. "And Tony had a private gun range to practice at."

She grins, steadies herself. "Ready for my second run."

Sam waits for the hand to sweep around, then says, "Ready...GO!"

This time, Parker starts from the other side, and manages to pick up some speed by taking out the pin that screwed her up last time, earlier. The action's a little smoother too.

"Yessss." She winces. Fast shooting can just kill your hands.

"You all right?" Sam asks as she stops the stopwatch. "Better."

Parker checks the score, and grins. "I have a cheer squad. I have the advantage." She re-adjusts her glasses, and sets herself. "Ready."

Sam figures it would be bad if she tried to knock Parker over (not to mention probably unsuccessful) so she gets the stopwatch set. "Ready...GO!"

Bang bang bang bang-- And the gun jams, and Parker swears. "Shit." She reloads, and keeps going, but doesn't get them all knocked off before the 15 seconds are up.

"Damn, damn..."

"Equipment malfuntion. Tough luck, Parker. Wanna switch guns?"

Parker shoots the eyebrow at her (set eyebrow on stun, Mr. Spock) and then reluctantly says, "Yeah, had me the 9mm." She takes a breath, steadies and centers herself. Easy. Does it.

"Ready."
