Library [07/15]

Sam had gotten into research mode as he'd headed to the library for his shift. Between looking for more people like himself - those who had been visited by Yellow Eyes, although he still didn't know if there really were any - and now trying to find out anything he could about Castiel, he had plenty to do and thankfully, plenty of time in which to do it.

Sam got all of his morning responsibilities done before sitting down in front of the computer and trying work as hard as he could before he had to go to Criminal Justice.

It was a good thing in many ways that Arthur had started to listen to the radio lately.

It was also a bad thing.

It was that bad thing that drove him down to the library that morning. "Sam, was it?"

Sam glanced over and set his Google search aside for the moment. "Yeah, can I help you?"

"I heard you on the radio the other night," Arthur said, conversationally. "You cleaned up after Chuck, then." He was being very idle about the way he paced into the library, really.

"He took it upon himself to bleed in my alcove," Sam said, with a bit of a shrug. "I just patched him up."

"You were there that evening," Arthur returned, his voice still mild. "Did you really feel he deserved to be patched up?"

With no classes and no work today, Raven decided to inspect the library before going to the Magical Reserves meeting. After her nightmare this morning, she wished to see if she could find a book about dreaming. She hesitated when she saw Sam there, remembering meeting his father and what he had said about the family being demon hunters. But he could not know about her heritage, so she entered the library, nodding shyly in greeting. "Good morning," she said. "I wish to find a book on dreams and portents, please."

Sam looked up from what he was reading and gave her a friendly smile. "Okay. There's lots of books about dreaming. Are you looking for something about dream interpretation?"

"Not exactly," Raven said. "But I believe it would be related. I am seeking information about seeing the future through dreams. Or visiting other realms while one dreams."

Sam's first instinct was to wonder why anyone would want that, before he remembered that not everyone had visions of the future that sucked as much as his did.

"That's a little more complicated," he said. "Isn't that the sort of thing you either know how to do or you don't?"

Before heading to work, Claire decided to detour by the library. She hadn't really gotten a chance to talk to Sam lately and she still needed to tell him about her conversation with Nathan.

"Hey, Sam, how's it going?"

"Claire, hey," Sam said, looking happy to see her. Talking to her was certainly better than hitting another dead end. "I'm doing all right. How are you?"

"Can't complain," Claire said. "My teddy bear was a little girl this weekend, but it's back to being a teddy bear."

Sam had good old fashioned apple pie for Dean this week. Mmmmm.

Dean had spent the morning out detailing the impala. If there had been a one sided conversation happening as he did so, he wasn't about to admit to. Finding the unfamiliar cassette in the car's player queued to "Shut Up and Drive" had made him laugh for a good five minutes. His girl had a sense of humor.

So he was in a really good mood when he headed into the library with lunch for him and his brother.

Sam was still in a fairly good mood, despite how bad he felt after his conversation with Arthur. "Hey," he said, with a nod to Dean. "How's it going?"

Sam shrugged. "I'm okay. I haven't run into our new friend in a few days," he said, his discussion with Castiel still fresh in his mind.

Sam was back at the computer, sifting through news articles and trying not to let himself get discouraged.

Peter came by with iced coffee and donuts. "You know if you weren't in a library I'd totally bring you ice cream."

Sam grinned at both seeing Peter and his idea. "We can get ice cream later, if you're having a craving," he said.
