Library [07/15]

Sam had gotten into research mode as he'd headed to the library for his shift. Between looking for more people like himself - those who had been visited by Yellow Eyes, although he still didn't know if there really were any - and now trying to find out anything he could about Castiel, he had plenty to do and thankfully, plenty of time in which to do it.

Sam was back at the computer, sifting through news articles and trying not to let himself get discouraged.

Peter came by with iced coffee and donuts. "You know if you weren't in a library I'd totally bring you ice cream."

Sam grinned at both seeing Peter and his idea. "We can get ice cream later, if you're having a craving," he said.

"I like the way you think," Peter said. "Especially if there's going to be some kind of syrup or whipped cream involved."

Sam couldn't fight how his face got a little warm. "Yeah, that would be really good."

"I'm just saying," Peter replied, innocently. He handed the iced coffee over, since Sam looked like he could use a cool drink. "How's your day going?"

"Pretty well. It's been busy, but the good kind of busy," he said, taking the coffee and taking a long sip.

"Not the kind of busy where the books come to life?" Peter asked.

"No, nor the kind of busy where books turn into things that aren't books," Sam said. "The right kind of busy."

"You know if you're too busy I could leave you alone," Peter teased.

"Don't you dare," Sam said, laughing. "I'm not busy now, and even if I was, you know I don't want you to go."

"Don't suppose you could prove that to me?" Peter asked, leaning closer to Sam.

"I might be able to," Sam said, leaning over and giving Peter a kiss.

Peter kissed Sam back, pulling him closer to help make that easier.

The thing about kissing Peter was that once Sam started, he didn't want to stop, so he had no problem letting himself be pulled closer.

"I say we have ice cream for dinner," Peter murmured against Sam's mouth.

"We should have ice cream with dinner," Sam said. "Unless you want a lot of it."

"I suppose we could get something with protein in it," Peter said. "If you think we need it for some reason."

"Energy is never a bad thing," Sam pointed out. "You never know when you might need a little more."

"Protein and ice cream," Peter said in agreement. "Though not at the same time."

"One right after the other," Sam said. "We could even take the ice cream back to our room, to make sure we get back in a timely manner."

"Man, no wonder you're the smart one," Peter said.
