Shop Class still accepting Students.
MacGyver pushes a large pallet of crates through the hallway to the Shop classroom.
The crates are marked with a return address of:
S.Summers
Charles Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters
1407 Graymalkin Lane
Salem Center, NY 12865
On top of the crates is a receipt from PayPal from a recent E-bay purchase. The receipt notes something about "Shi'ar Technology".
Mac checks to make sure the Sign-up Sheet is still posted and goes to work unpacking the crates and starting to install the equipment.
Anybody walking by might hear Mac cursing over the fact that the Owner's manual does not have an English translation.

"Hi," she says, grinning. "Looks like I'm the first one here."
OOC: I know she's there a week early, but she's a little goofy this morning.

"I'd say. Class doesn't start until next week. But as long as you're here..."
Mac waves his hand to a bunch of alien technology which has been unpacked and is sitting around the room.
"You wouldn't happen to know anything about the Shi'ar language would you?"
Sam may notice that the typical shop room elements. (Drill presses, saws,
guillotinesand fabrication tools are conspiciously absent.no subject
ButtheadDoctor Jackson, though--he knows a whole bunch of weird ones."She wandered over to look at the technology, with a slightly greedy gleam in her eyes. "What's all this stuff?
And how long until I can take it apart and figure out how it works?I've never seen anything like it before. Not Goa'uld, not Tollan, not Asgard, not Tok'ra..."no subject
"It's some highly sophisticated holographic/force field equipment from the Shi'ar galaxy. Bought it off Ebay from another school down in New York state. Something called Charles Xavier's school for something something. It's supposedly came from the Shi'ar galaxy or something like that."
Mac finally just tosses the book on the desk. "Oh hell, let's just see what fits together and go from there. At least this owner's manual has diagrams."
Don't even think of taking this stuff apart. I had to promise Bristow my first born just to get it.no subject
Sam picked up the manual and began leafing through it. She made no sense whatsoever of the words, but the pictures were cool. Besides, she didn't usually have a manual of any kind and here there was no one shooting her. It made a nice change.
"Where do you want to start?"

Turning it on.
The room flickers for a second and suddenly they are standing in the middle of a beach. Sunshine. Waves crashing against the surf. It's beautiful.
Okay so the ocean is purple instead of blue. Big deal.
"Hey Kitty. Where's the tint control on this?"
Re: Turning it on.
She waved goodbye, picked up her toolbox, and walked out of the room.

"Good. I don't have to pick the lock," he half mumbles to himself.
"Hi. Are there any metalwork tools in here?"

"No worries here."
He clicks a few buttons and the room goes back to normal.
"Thanks for all your help Kitty. Sure you're not interested in joining the class? I'm also looking for a TA. Interviews are on Thursday."
