Shop Class still accepting Students.

MacGyver pushes a large pallet of crates through the hallway to the Shop classroom.

The crates are marked with a return address of:

S.Summers
Charles Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters
1407 Graymalkin Lane
Salem Center, NY 12865

On top of the crates is a receipt from PayPal from a recent E-bay purchase. The receipt notes something about "Shi'ar Technology".

Mac checks to make sure the Sign-up Sheet is still posted and goes to work unpacking the crates and starting to install the equipment.

Anybody walking by might hear Mac cursing over the fact that the Owner's manual does not have an English translation.

"Nice to meet you, too, Mac," she says, somewhat shyly. "You were a student, and now you're a teacher? That's got to be weird. How're you dealing with it? Oh, and how's your grandfather doing?"

And...I'm babbling...

She nodded knowingly. "Yeah, time warps stink unless you're doing Rocky Horror, but around here they seem to be perfectly normal." She paused, the continued, "and you might want to stay away from Locker 327. Just a friendly warning."

Huh. Maybe he does look a bit like Jack, now that he's pointed it out. "I guess you do. Are you okay with that? It seems like there's a lot of that here. And if you think that's strange, there's a replicator/cyborg version of me you probably shouldn't meet."

"Well it's been twenty years since I was last here. The weird thing is coming back and seeing everyone unchanged. "

Mac picks up a couple of parts and looks at the diagram.

"Locker 327? Oh yeah. The new math teacher was trying to suss that thing out yesterday in the teacher's lounge. I don't think he did very well. As for the doppelganger thing? Well I'll just have to get used to it since Jack is signing up for class."

Mac snaps the parts together, and screws them in with his SAK and compares it to the diagram.

"All right... according to the diagram we need to mount this..." *turns diagram right side up* "on the ceiling."

Luckily it's one of those drop ceilings.

I have to admit part of bringing Mac in was just to mess with O'Neill's head

She must have left her brain back in the dorms this morning. "Oh, yeah, that's right. But, um, you didn't miss much except for the zombies and Hathor!Janet, if that makes you feel any better. There's a new Dean, but it sounds like you've already met him."

"Jack's still able to sign up for class? Last I heard, he thought he had a class conflict. And I am not at all stupid!giddy over the prospect of sharing another class with him. Nope, nope, nope.

Sam grabbed the other side of the...whatever it was...that Mac was holding. "Are you sure this is the way it's supposed to go? Maybe the diagram was right side up the first time."

That's okay. Sam's got plans to drive him completely batsh*t by raving about the new shop teacher, so it's all good.

Kitty hears the noise and stops to see what's happening. "Oh, wow," she says. "I didn't expect to see one of those here!"

::Lockheed flies up behind her and perches on her shoulder.::

Sam turns around, careful not to drop whatever it is that she's holding. "You know what this is?"

She eyes the dragon nervously, but says, "Hi, I'm Sam Carter."

"If so, do you know how to read shi'ar?"

"Hey, I'm Kitty Pryde. And my Shi'ar is terrible, but this looks just like the system they had at my old school. You need some help?"

"Charles Xavier school for whosits whatsits? You went there? Some guy named Summers sold me this stuff on e-bay. If you know how it fits together hop in."

Mac helps Sam put whatever they were holding down on the ground.

Turning to Kitty, Mac raises an eyebrow. "By the way Kitty, the name's MacGyver. You wouldn't happen to be looking for a class would you?"

Sam smiled gratefully at the Professor and rubbed the strength back into her arms.
