Shop Class still accepting Students.

MacGyver pushes a large pallet of crates through the hallway to the Shop classroom.

The crates are marked with a return address of:

S.Summers
Charles Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters
1407 Graymalkin Lane
Salem Center, NY 12865

On top of the crates is a receipt from PayPal from a recent E-bay purchase. The receipt notes something about "Shi'ar Technology".

Mac checks to make sure the Sign-up Sheet is still posted and goes to work unpacking the crates and starting to install the equipment.

Anybody walking by might hear Mac cursing over the fact that the Owner's manual does not have an English translation.

"I will," Sam replied. "What new club? And why would I laugh?"

"Celebrating my free time by taking on a whole new project? Sounds like a laugh to me," Angelus flashed her a grin. "Of course now I'm not sure if it'll happen. I honestly thought Alanna was going to do better in the votes. Not to slight Marty or anything, of course."

Sam shrugged. "Naah, I do that all the time. I was actually surprised Marty, won, frankly, but he got the word out and people seem to like him."

"Give him credit for knowing how to spin," Angelus agreed. "Which is politics I suppose. Heck, he might even be the best student for the job. Who am I to say?"

"Politics. Ugh. I'm too straightforward to play the game the way it needs to be played." She thought for a second. "I guess I'm glad there are people who know how to do it, because then I don't have to worry about stepping in."

"Me too," Angelus said. "I don't mind telling you I was thrilled when none of my friends asked me for any help. I wouldn't have known the first thing to do."

Hmm. Either Parker had lied through her teeth, or this guy thought she was dumber than she looked. That was a little too far.

"Yeah, I can definitely see that you're a guy who would be absolutely lost in an unknown situation," she drawled.

"Actually unknown I deal with pretty well," Angelus said, giving her a smile. "Must be why things like zombies aren't throwing me."

"Yeah, I heard you performed admirably during zombie weekend. I wasn't here for it--out of town, you know. Missed all the fun."

"Yeah, that," there might have been a hint of a twist of regret to Angelus's mouth. Or maybe he was just bothered by the dust their building was kicking up. "I don't like to brag, really. I just did what anybody would do."

"Oh, I don't think that's true at all!" Sam gushed. "There were a lot of people who hid in their rooms, from what I heard, but you were out there, leading people, organizing them, helping them to defend themselves against some truly strange circumstances. That's quite an accomplishment. You should be very proud."

"Organization I did not do," Angelus said, glad for something honest to grasp on to. "That was some guy... John? I think? He's on the same floor as me. He was the master of the walkie-talkie. I just swung a sword."

"I don't know, actually. Like I said, I heard a lot of them second hand, but there were too many people singing your praises for me to believe that all you did was swing a sword. You're being too modest." She smiled adoringly up at him.

"Well..." Angelus said, slowly. He let a goofy grin shape his face. "At one point there was this neat gun that worked like it was made out of light or something. That was cool."

Sam smiled the smile of a fellow weapons lover. "Worked like it was made of light? That is cool. I wish I could have seen that or figured out how it worked so I could make another one."

"It really was," Angelus grinned, and didn't really have to fake it that time. "Another student - Aeryn? Loaned it to me. Liked her. Good fighter. I like that in a woman."

"Aeryn lent you Worthington her pulse pistol?" Sam asked, incredulously. "Wow, you should be honored. Yeah, she's a great fighter. There's more to her, of course, but she's not afraid to step in when she has to."

"That's the name!" Angelus nodded vigorously. "Pulse pistol. Knew it was something poetic. And yeah, she did. Certainly stepped up to the plate during the battle. She was right there on the front lines. Guess she's got a little hero in her."

"Well, if the rumors are right, she has pretty much every night since Homecoming." Sam nodded, "Yes, she's definitely someone who's going places."

"She's dating... John, was it?" Angelus asked. "Or Cam?"

Slowly, Sam realizes she's being pumped for information. She doesn't want to give this guy leverage against Aeryn. "I'm not sure who she's seeing right now, actually. We don't talk much."

"Gotcha," Angelus shrugged. "I just remember one of the guys warning me off. Just as well, now that I'm seeing Lisa. Well" He gave a wry grin, "sort of seeing Lisa."

"Lisa Cuddy? I don't think I know her, but everyone I know who's been to the clinic seems to like her. Have you been sort of seeing each other long?"

"Sort of," Angelus gave a grin to match the weak joke. "We kind of had a date that was interrupted by zombies. Then we went to Homecoming but I don't know if that counts. Wouldn't mind seeing her again. I bought her flowers, do you think that's pushing it?"

"No, I think that's nice," she said, shaking her head. "Very gentlemanly."
