Lunch - Monday - 5/14

The Chef looked positively giddy about working near the cabins. He loved the great outdoors. Das Schnitzel was the outdoors-y type too. She was in a corner whittling...something.

"Guud murneeng stoodents! I em su gled tu be-a beck et vurk! In zee ooootduurs! Veet noo stoodents!"

((For newbies: This is where you eat...lunch. Yep. Mingle, eat, emo. Whatever. The Chef is insane but luckily he's got his talking chicken, Das Schnitzel to balance out his crazyness with normality. Buffy thought cheeseburgers were an excellent lunch time food. Or breakfast. She wasn't picky and she'd gotten up late. Maybe she could steal some french fries for Bertie later. She settled down by a window to look out on the nice sunny day according to the weather feed.

Charlie was determined to meet a few more people every day. That way, by the end of the summer, she wouldn't be trying to still figure out who that guy on the fifth floor was. Or the third. Whichever.

Keeping that in mind, she clutched her tray to herself and asked the girl sitting by the window, "Hi, do you mind if I sit here? I'm new. Charlie."

Buffy looked up and smiled. "Not at all. Sit down." She gestured towards a chair. "I'm Buffy, I've been here a year now. It just keeps getting weirder, really."

"Yeah, the last couple days have been-- intense," Charlie said, rolling her eyes, then taking a quick sip of her shake. "I mean, my Big Brother took me to a haunted house, first thing. You'd think nothing could top that, but wow, was I wrong."

"We have a haunted house?" Buffy asked, interested. "I thought it was just the huge mansion that was haunted. Who's your Big Brother?"

"Dean? And it's, uh." She snickered, a little embarassed. "The ex-brothel. Or so he said. I don't think he was lying about that... the mansion's haunted too? Whoa."

Mikey was hoping for pizza. Mikey was really hoping for pizza. Mikey was somewhat woeful as he found cheeseburgers.
But not too woeful. Cheeseburgers were just pizza in a different configuration without the tomato sauce.
And if you put the s'mures into the burger, you almost didn't notice anyhow.

Buffy waved at the big turtle. "Hi! You're in my cabin, aren't you?" She stared in fascination at his cheeseburger. Yup, should definitely introduce to Dawn.

"If you're in Keroppi, dudette, then I'm totally there." Keroppi, Curupira. Same difference until he figured out what a Curupira actually was. "I'm Michelangelo. Like the painter, only more green."

Not like Buffy had any idea how the cabin was pronounced anyway, so she just nodded. "Yup, I'm Buffy. I thought maybe you were the painter dude. Molly's going to be really disappointed when she finds out."

Mikey might have pouted a little around a bite of s'meezeboorger.
"Dude, I didn't mean to make anyone upset. But I'm a ninja. And a mutant. That's almost as cool as the painter dude, isn't it?"

After meeting Robin, Mikey wasn't as huge a shock to the system. But, still.

Charlie waved a little weakly, still unable to quite believe that wasn't a costume. "Hi."

Mikey blinked up from his squishy sandwich, then grinned and waved a little hello. "Hey there, dudette!"
The weak wave was totally noted, but Michelangelo was pretty confident that people would get used to it sooner rather than later.

"Hey. Dude." Charlie started to grin. Costume or real, he seemed pretty laid-back. "I'm Charlie, I'm new here. How long have you been here at school?"

"A few days now, too, actually," Mikey offered her a big turtle smile and shrugged. "Haven't started any workshops yet, though. This whole school thing is pretty new to me, would you believe it?"

Donnie was glad for lunch, because it meant that Sex Ed was over. He got himself a cheeseburger and fries, skipped the salad, and took several s'mores before sitting down.

Buffy waved to the other turtle. "Hi! Are you Mikey's brother?" Hey, it's fandom. For all she knew the purple bandana one might be Mikey's great-grand nephew or something.

It was definitely weird to have people recognizing him, but much better than having anyone freaking out. "Yep, I'm Donatello," he greeted, smiling slightly.

"Cool. Is that the name of some old painter dude too?" Buffy asked curiously.

"Dude!" Mikey waved at Donnie, a smear of cheesey marshmallow across his cheek. "DUDE! Isn't this place totally awesome, bro?"

"Mikey!" Donnie grinned at his brother and then sighed, offering him a napkin from his tray. "Yeah, it's pretty cool, except for maybe my classes."

"Maybe your classes, dude?" Mikey took the napkin and wiped at the cheesemallow. "I don't have any until tomorrow. What's so uncool about classes?"
He paused thoughtfully. "No Shannen Doherty yet? Is that it?"
