Lunch - Monday - 5/14

The Chef looked positively giddy about working near the cabins. He loved the great outdoors. Das Schnitzel was the outdoors-y type too. She was in a corner whittling...something.

"Guud murneeng stoodents! I em su gled tu be-a beck et vurk! In zee ooootduurs! Veet noo stoodents!"

Tudey's Menoo:

-Cheeseboorgers

-French Freees

-Seled

-S'Mures

((For newbies: This is where you eat...lunch. Yep. Mingle, eat, emo. Whatever. The Chef is insane but luckily he's got his talking chicken, Das Schnitzel to balance out his crazyness with normality. If you ever want anything specific for lunch or want to play out a scene with the Chef e-mail me at heyjude2187@aol.com))
((Oh, and there will be s'mores for dessert until they are out of the cabins. Because the Chef likes making them))

After meeting Robin, Mikey wasn't as huge a shock to the system. But, still.

Charlie waved a little weakly, still unable to quite believe that wasn't a costume. "Hi."

Mikey blinked up from his squishy sandwich, then grinned and waved a little hello. "Hey there, dudette!"
The weak wave was totally noted, but Michelangelo was pretty confident that people would get used to it sooner rather than later.

"Hey. Dude." Charlie started to grin. Costume or real, he seemed pretty laid-back. "I'm Charlie, I'm new here. How long have you been here at school?"

[identity profile] halfshell-hero.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
"A few days now, too, actually," Mikey offered her a big turtle smile and shrugged. "Haven't started any workshops yet, though. This whole school thing is pretty new to me, would you believe it?"

[identity profile] girlzippo.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah? They don't have schools where you're from?" Charlie cocked her head. "Is it another planet, or something? And were you home-schooled, and do you even have any idea what I'm talking about, man, I'm a dork."

[identity profile] halfshell-hero.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Michelangelo couldn't help but laugh a little at that.
"Nah, man. I'm from New York. They don't exactly let giant reptiles into the public education system out there, you know? So our dad-dude mentored my brother's and I as we grew up. He's a pretty radical rat."

[identity profile] girlzippo.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
"You're from the City? Yay! I lived there for almost a year, when I was a little kid," Charlier said, then took a sip of her drink as she remembered that year. "Anyway, yeah, no, I get that. Hey, is your dad-mentor actually a rat? Or is that a metaphor?" She frowned, wanting to ask about how giant reptiles had ended up hiding in NYC, but not sure how to phrase that.

[identity profile] halfshell-hero.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
"He's totally a rat," Mikey replied with a smirk. "A ninja rat. He taught us everything we know about ninja... ing. Ever since he found us crawling around in green goo in a sewer."

[identity profile] girlzippo.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
"There used to be a girl ninja who lived in town, but she's not there any more," Charlie told him, then swallowed part of a potato chip before asking, "Green goo? I mean, I'm not surprised there is some in the sewers, but-- what were you doing crawling in it? How old were you?" Her eyes widened. "And if that's incredibly rude you don't have to answer!"

[identity profile] halfshell-hero.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Hee!" Mikey waved a hand dismissively. "Nah, it's cool! My bros and I were just teeny little baby turtles at that point. Normal teeny little baby turtles. It was the green ooze goop that turned us into... well... mutants, or whatever. You know. Big and green and talkative. Cool, huh?"

[identity profile] girlzippo.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Ohhh. Yeah. Cool." Charlie has a good idea how not-cool it can be, but Michelangelo is a cool dude, and he'd probably much rather be able to walk and talk than just be a regular turtle. "So the ooze was radioactive, or something. Hunh. Did the same thing happen to your mentor-guy?"

[identity profile] halfshell-hero.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't think it was radioactive," Mikey speculated. "But it did do the trick. Splinter got a dose of it, too, yeah. But he was an older, wiser rat. Or. Uh. Something."

[identity profile] girlzippo.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
"So how many brothers do you have? And are they all here?" Charlie looked a little envious. "I'm an only kid myself."

[identity profile] halfshell-hero.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
"I have three bros," came the reply as Mikey fidgeted a little, "but only two of them came with me. Raphael and Donatello. Leo is kind of... missing in action. Or something."

[identity profile] girlzippo.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I'm sorry!" Charlie bit her lip, and tried to think of something else to talk about. "What workshops are you taking? I'm supposed to be in some class about Mercenaries in an hour, but I think that might be a joke."

[identity profile] halfshell-hero.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Mikey blinked, then tilted his head a little. "It might be a joke. I'm taking Arts and Crafts tomorrow, and then a class about being annoying or something like that. And then I'm in a class about being a better fighter. I'm kind of looking forward to that one, to be honest. I haven't done much since Leo took off." He grinned. "Exercise at last."

[identity profile] girlzippo.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"That sounds cool. Maybe I'll take that next session. I can't really fight." And her other options were too extreme. "But I'll see you in Arts & Crafts, I'm taking that one too."
