Lunch - Monday - 5/14

The Chef looked positively giddy about working near the cabins. He loved the great outdoors. Das Schnitzel was the outdoors-y type too. She was in a corner whittling...something.

"Guud murneeng stoodents! I em su gled tu be-a beck et vurk! In zee ooootduurs! Veet noo stoodents!"

Buffy thought cheeseburgers were an excellent lunch time food. Or breakfast. She wasn't picky and she'd gotten up late. Maybe she could steal some french fries for Bertie later. She settled down by a window to look out on the nice sunny day according to the weather feed.

Charlie was determined to meet a few more people every day. That way, by the end of the summer, she wouldn't be trying to still figure out who that guy on the fifth floor was. Or the third. Whichever.

Keeping that in mind, she clutched her tray to herself and asked the girl sitting by the window, "Hi, do you mind if I sit here? I'm new. Charlie."

Buffy looked up and smiled. "Not at all. Sit down." She gestured towards a chair. "I'm Buffy, I've been here a year now. It just keeps getting weirder, really."

"Yeah, the last couple days have been-- intense," Charlie said, rolling her eyes, then taking a quick sip of her shake. "I mean, my Big Brother took me to a haunted house, first thing. You'd think nothing could top that, but wow, was I wrong."

"We have a haunted house?" Buffy asked, interested. "I thought it was just the huge mansion that was haunted. Who's your Big Brother?"

"Dean? And it's, uh." She snickered, a little embarassed. "The ex-brothel. Or so he said. I don't think he was lying about that... the mansion's haunted too? Whoa."

"Dean Winchester? I know him! I used to date his brother," Buffy grinned. She paused. "His brother is now dating my sister from another universe. Or parallell. Or something. He probably wasn't lying about the brothel. At least, there used to be one."

"Ummmmmm what?" Charlie paused with her sandwich half-way to her mouth, staring at Buffy. "Parallel universe? Is this like that lots-of-futures thing Alec told me about?"

"It might be? I don't really understand it," Buffy admitted. "But in Dawn's world, she has a bigger me without boobs who's her big sister, but I don't have a Dawn in my world yet. So." She waved her fork vaguely. "You've met Alec already? Did he take his shirt off at you?" Buffy grinned.

"Noooo," Charlie giggled, "It was already off when I walked up and said hi, thinking he was Dean. They're both really kind of-- and then there was Tannim and Adam and-- are all the guys on this Island terminally cute, or what?"

Buffy considered the question over a bite of her burger. She nodded happily. "U-huh! Isn't it cool? Usually we can get them to kiss if we throw glitter on them, but I tried it on Karal yesterday and it didn't work." She frowned. "But Willow on the radio said it took at least 24 hours, so maybe I'll just have to try again."

Mikey was hoping for pizza. Mikey was really hoping for pizza. Mikey was somewhat woeful as he found cheeseburgers.
But not too woeful. Cheeseburgers were just pizza in a different configuration without the tomato sauce.
And if you put the s'mures into the burger, you almost didn't notice anyhow.

Buffy waved at the big turtle. "Hi! You're in my cabin, aren't you?" She stared in fascination at his cheeseburger. Yup, should definitely introduce to Dawn.

"You can get boys to kiss by throwing glitter on them." Charlie considered. "Does that really work for everyone? Seriously?"

And she's not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing, because, won't that mean there's no chance they would want to kiss her? Not that would've wanted to before, maybe, but still.... "It's not a permanent thing, right?"

"If you're in Keroppi, dudette, then I'm totally there." Keroppi, Curupira. Same difference until he figured out what a Curupira actually was. "I'm Michelangelo. Like the painter, only more green."

Not like Buffy had any idea how the cabin was pronounced anyway, so she just nodded. "Yup, I'm Buffy. I thought maybe you were the painter dude. Molly's going to be really disappointed when she finds out."

"I'm not sure if it works for everyone. It's worked on the ones I've tried it on, except Karal." Of course the ones she'd tried it on had usually involved Alec somehow. "Nah, it's not permanent, just fun!"

"Cool." Because aside from entertaining, spontaneous kissage is pretty! "I really, really like this Island." She took another sip of her shake, then asked, "What workshops are you taking? I just have Mercenary Work with Professor... Deadpool. Is that really his name?"

Mikey might have pouted a little around a bite of s'meezeboorger.
"Dude, I didn't mean to make anyone upset. But I'm a ninja. And a mutant. That's almost as cool as the painter dude, isn't it?"

Buffy tilted her head. "You'd have to ask Molly, dude, but I totally think so!" She stared at his burger again. "Um, what exactly are you eating?"

"Nothing today," Buffy said happily. "I'm not sure if it is his name, but that's what everyone calls him. I had Driver's Ed with him, and he didn't fail me!"

This didn't mean that she was ready to drive a car anywhere, but Buffy thought it did.

"That's good to know," Charlie said, looking hopeful. "I didn't really sign up for his class, I was just assigned to it. If he's cool with it maybe I won't be in too much trouble, then." She cocked her head. "Do you get to drive other places much? Because from what I could see, nowhere to do it around here."

"No, but there is, like, this room that can be pretty much anything..." Buffy trailed off, squinting at Charlie. "You know what? Ask Dean or someone to explain it instead. I'll just end up confusing you. No, wait! Do you watch Galaxy Quest?"

"Sometimes, yeah," Charlie admitted slowly, hoping this wasn't a test for geekhood that she was about to flunk. "I like the Security Guy." And the idea of leaving the planet, too. "Why?"

"Well, I was kind of put off that they didn't have pizza here today," Mikey explained around the other half of his wild meal, "so I just kinda stuck some of my fave toppings into it and - dude! - The s'meezeboorger was born! It's... uh... kinda missing tomato sauce, though. Bogus."
