Rory wandered in earlier than usual in spite of what time this post is actually going up, and curled up at the desk with a notebook full of handwritten, highlighted notes as well as her laptop.

"Which pictures?" she asks curiously.

"All to do with space, actually," she says. "A few posters he gave me, some pictures from Anakin and Isabel."

She nods. "That makes sense. Do you miss it? Space in general, I mean."

She nods. "Quite a bit, actually. But it isn't like I won't ever have an opportunity to go back, and I could occasionally go up if I wanted to, so. It's easier that way," she admits with a shrug.

"You should get Lukey to take you up in his ship!"

Yes, Rory still doesn't know Aeryn has one of her own.

"And I still do have to see it," she remembers. "But I know mine already."

Rory frowns. "Where are you hiding it?"

"Junkyard," she says. "I made arrangements with Tex when I came back here to keep it under guard, though after John had to steal it, there wasn't much of a point in keeping it a secret."

"Can I fly it?" she asks curiously.

"No," she says. "One person has flown it besides me and he had training. And even then if I'd have known what he was doing before he did it, I never would have allowed it."

Rory pouts for just a moment, and then says, "What kind of ship is it?"

"It's a Prowler," she answers. "A fighter ship where I come from. You can see it sometime, if you want." It's just the flying she's a little wary of.

"Okay!" Rory says happily. "I've flown Lukey's starfighter. But only once, when we were in open space where I couldn't hurt anything."

"What'd you think?' she asks, curious.

"It was fun," she says. "And easy to maneuver. He thinks I fly too slowly though."

"It helps," she says solemnly. "But no."

That's a good thiing, but she's not going to say that out loud. "How does it help?" she wonders.

"Shifts my concentration so I'm not freaking out," she says honestly.

"What's to freak out about?" Aeryn asks. "I suppose I'm just used to it."

"The fact I could crash," she says logically. "I'm still adjusting."

"Takeoff's usually a lot more risky," she assures her. "If you can get into the air you'll probably be fine for the whole rest of the time."

"I didn't do the takeoff with Luke's ship," she says thoughtfully. "Maybe I should ask him to let me next time."

"It's worth trying. And some ships are easier than others, depending on the technology. A ship here will be vastly different than one where I come from. It might even be easier." It would be hard not to be, given the whole primitive Earth thing.

"Yeah, but they tend to kind of regulate air traffic," Rory points out.
