"Did you sing, too?"

"It helps," she says solemnly. "But no."

That's a good thiing, but she's not going to say that out loud. "How does it help?" she wonders.

"Shifts my concentration so I'm not freaking out," she says honestly.

"What's to freak out about?" Aeryn asks. "I suppose I'm just used to it."

"The fact I could crash," she says logically. "I'm still adjusting."

"Takeoff's usually a lot more risky," she assures her. "If you can get into the air you'll probably be fine for the whole rest of the time."

"I didn't do the takeoff with Luke's ship," she says thoughtfully. "Maybe I should ask him to let me next time."

"It's worth trying. And some ships are easier than others, depending on the technology. A ship here will be vastly different than one where I come from. It might even be easier." It would be hard not to be, given the whole primitive Earth thing.

"Yeah, but they tend to kind of regulate air traffic," Rory points out.

"I'm sure they'd have to. I haven't done much research into it," she says. "I've studied the way the military tends to do things, but that's about all."

"Unless this is how UFO rumors get started," she muses.

"UFO rumors?" She's never heard of that, believe it or not.

"Unidentified Flying Objects," she says. "People keep thinking they see alien spaceships. The funny thing is that everyone has this weird misconception that all aliens are wee green people who fly around in big saucer-shaped ships. I don't know why people think they're green."

Aeryn sighs a little. "I don't know many green alien species and can't think of a single ship that fits that description."

"It doesn't sound logical," Rory says, making a face. "How would you fly something like that?"

"I think it would have to depend on what it was used for. A ship built like that wouldn't be any good fighting. It's probably just a passenger ship of some sort. But if they have the technology to make something like that fly, they probably don't need to come here for vacation."

"See, they supposedly come here to experiment on people they find in the midwest and mess up their crops."

"Their... crops?" she asks. "I don't know, maybe if they were on some sort of mission to keep other species from being able to find food sources here, but that doesn't make sense."

"They make designs in corn fields," Rory says solemnly. "I want to see you and Isabel do this now."

"I think I have better things to do with my time," Aeryn says slowly.

"It could be fun and pointless and I suspect it's a drunken sort of thing to do," Rory admits.

"I've seen Isabel drunk. She hugs. I don't think this is going to happen," she says.

"What if I gave you both sugar highs?"

Aeryn frowns and says, "I've never had one."
